This Article Is 'So Gay!'

I’m not even sure what to say about this one!

The school is wrong but the insult is so lame it is time to expunge it.

Most of the gay guys I know are pretty cool.

Schools in this country should be taking a stand against their failing education methods, not phrases.

This article is nauseating. I like to call things gay. If gay people don’t like it that’s too bad. I make no distinction between free speech and hate speech, and I don’t care how many laws or rulings are made to try to force me to. If people don’t like what someone is saying, it should be settled with violence, not policy.

I live in Santa Rosa, so for the past two weeks this story has had more coverage than global warming, Hillary Clinton and Britney Spear’s bald head put together.

And some people still wonder why my kids are homeschooled.

I’M GAY! Why, I’m so gay, that I make really gay people look not so gay. Or something like that.

Damnit, I thought we meant gay as in happy. Like it use to mean back in the day.

So, what I really meant was I’M HAPPY, like really super happy…

Um, yeah, I’m totally not gay. Unless you mean gay as in happy, than I am gay. Wait, what?

/this comment was not meant to offend our gay brethren, i have much love for our gay brethren, but not like that kind’ve love, like strictly plutonic love… damnit…

No, I just deal with bureaucratic bullshit all day every day, and it starts to wear thin on my nerves. I can only play their game for so long in any given stretch before I need to vent the frustration. I’m like a safety valve with a relatively small blowdown period.

so wait,

group of students: do you have 10 moms?

girl: thats so gay

if she did have 10 moms WOULDNT that be gay?

and what time of lame ass teenagers are these to get her in trouble for that lame phrase.

What I find rediculous is that the kids were making fun of her religion when she came back with that statement. Why weren’t the kids making fun of Mormons treated the same way?

Apparently, you can make fun of someone’s religion all day long, but if you say the word “gay” in relation to something funny, lame or negative, all hell breaks loose and it goes on your permanent record. I am losing all faith in society as a whole or in the average intelligence of the people actually teaching the children today. Even if the kids plotted to get this girl in trouble, how retarded was the counselor, vice-principal or whoever to actually make this a larger issue?

That’s like pushing someone until they hit back and then getting them in trouble for hitting. What about all of the pushing?

I had the unfortunate pleasure of working doing a sound gig with some crazy chick that assumed I was a homophobe and had a problem with the special olympics because I often use the phrase “that’s gay” or “that’s retarded”. She actually blew a rod over it and chewed my ass while mentioning she was in a women’s self defense class many times. Apparently to her disagreeing = trying to rape and kill her.

I really wanted to just let her have it but the people who lose it over words are hardly worth the effort. Not like you are going to change their mind anyway.

Anyway, back to the original post…double standards…you don’t say?

I think it is easy for any thinking person to point out that this girl getting punished is stupid. But perhaps that is a term we should stop using. I think I may try to wean it from my vocabulary.

When I was a kid we used to play smear the queer. Is it right to still call it that? We also used to mess with people by knocking on their door and running, nigger knocking. When I used to play it I didn’t know the terms queer or nigger but now that I do, I figure I shouldn’t use them.

There is a difference between being a pussy and being a stubborn asshole. I guess we have to draw our line for ourselves on this, but I think I’m done calling stuff gay.

mike

Meh, every generation has some stupid little problems with whats appropriate and whats not. Whats important is learning to navigate the system. Some people are so retarded they just can’t do it.

Plutonic love would be “down” and “dirty” by definition. I think you meant platonic, or maybe socratic;-)

Yup, plus the German language has a satisfiying variety of demeaning expressions without the word “schwul”…

This just shows how bad the American system, as in “Sue whatever you want”, really is. It’s like, totally gay. I can’t believe those Americans can’t see it’s wrong. Just like their weapon law etc.

Guess I’ll have to fall back on the old standby:

“That’s so Christian!”

Throwloud I was just thinking the same thing. It’s ok for the other kids to mock this girls religion but when she hurls an insult back with the word gay in it she gets reprimanded.

if people think variations of homo and related stuff are offensive ,no bloody law and no pseudo enlightened bastard will ever change it ,

  • I think most of the fags like it that way
