If you cant access a rack with pins, would it be good option to use smith machine for bench press?

It would be good for use as a towel rack but that’s about it. You lose so much with the Smith, stabilization, activation…
If you are using 80-88% 1 RM and moving the weight with some speed you won’t be going to failure.
Just ramp up until you reach max force set and you’re done.
Might use a spotter for liftoff on heavier sets so that you can keep your tuck in bench press but you shouldn’t reach complete failure.
Hi CT,
I’m half way into my 4th week of the program and I was wondering if the routine continues for another week or so?
Thank you
just curious, during a normal workout with eccentrics, how long should the eccentric part last?
since i dont have pins available and can not do the top half bench as it is intended for the program, i would appreciate advice for the next best movement to start the push workout with. so far i have been bench pressing, but as i understand, the first movement should be rather for activation. should i just go lighter?
and for the pull day, would it be a bad idea to replace max rep pulldowns with pullups?
thanks.
My bodyweight is moving up slowly but steadily with no noticeable fat gain and I’m moving bigger weights almost every workout. I must admit I’m a newbie, but I have never been this excited about training before.
Thank you coach Thibs!
My problem is: I’ve got calves of a 12 year old girl, so should I add some calf work to the mix? And if I should, which day would be optimal and what kind of sets? Should I ramp or go traditionally maybe 3x10 or something?
How about ab-work? I feel that my abs get hit pretty hard during the week due to heavy movements, but could it be beneficial to throw some abwheel work at the end of workouts once a week or so?
