Coach, how would you go about structuring these methods into 6 workouts? Could you just rotate the A exercises? For example…
DAY 1 -Push
A. Top half bench from pins - ramping sets of 3
B. Push Press - ramping sets of 5
C. Incline Bench - ramping sets of 5
Plus the circuit work
DAY 5 - Push then could be
A. Push Press - ramping sets of 3
B. Regular Bench - ramping sets of 5
C. Incline Bench - ramping sets of 5
Plus the circuit work
and do the same for the pull and legs day, or is this idiotic?
Have you heard of 321 method/workout. It is apparently designed to for fat loss as well as retain and even build muscle. In one workout you will do ten minute intervals as below which adds up to 3 cardio, 2 strength training and one cardio which takes 1 hour to complete.
Cardio (Steady Pace Running)
Strength Training (Squat, Pull-ups, Bench)
Cardio (High Intensity Sprints)
Strength Training (Dead Lifts, Pushups, Dips)
Cardio (Steady Pace Running)
Core (Planks, V-Holds, Ball Crunches)
The only thing that bothers me is that the frequency recommended is 5-6 times per week which seems a little excessive given you have to train 3 days in a row. Also the rep range for the “strength” part recommends 8-10 reps. This allows me to do a total of six sets per bodypart by the end of the workout. Should I reduce the frequency?

This program looks like a recipe for disaster. Try Thibs war room strategies for fat loss or probably any other program off this site…
Yeah, I’ll gladly write about our secret rituals where we sacrifice virgins in the forest during a full moon, while drinking protein shakes and dancing frantically to the latest Eminem album.
CT, dont mean to go off topic on this thread but i found this as i was searching for a modified i,bb program. Trouble is i only can weight train 3x a week (normally mon, wed, fri) and can do cardio on other days due to work/home commitments although feel i would be much better off training 4 days per week (like the program you suggested at the start of the thread)
using these principles, could i modify this program and say, put biceps in the pull day and tri’s in the push day and have a traditional push-pull-legs split?
or do you think it would be more beneficial to keep to a 4 day split but use it over 3 days? for example -

Glad to see you pushing the concentric only stuff for mass. Although I am not sure about the 7lbs of muscle in a week thing (didnt actually see where you said this, someone just told me you had) but I do think that its an under-appreciated strategy.

Thanks for chiming in Glenn. You are one of the guys I respect the most in this field so it is an honor to have you here.
I’ve been puzzled by eccentric-less training since I saw Louie Simmons recommend high reps upper body work with the sled. Then read the stuff you were doing. It’s now a huge part of my guys training.

Isn’t that called a Rave party?
Or a Saturday night on St. Catherine Street.
I’ve been out of the loop lately and have just been catching up on everything in your forum area. The info in the lab and this thread is great. I’ve been looking into my bulk for this winter and all these new techniques look great. Hopefully, you have time to answer a few questions.
If adding a manual accentuated eccentric exercise would you add it before or after the circuit and for how many set, reps (ramping?)?
Also, others have asked this and I was wondering the same thing: how would you change this for 3 on 1 off?
Lastly, would you recommend a neural charge workout on every off day or just one of the two?

Thanks for the kind words. After following a link to this thread, I looked around a little and watched a couple of your videos… Other than being disappointed that your gym didn’t have Pendlay bars and bumpers I thought they were pretty good.
Where exactly are you located these days? I am doing a few seminars up north in the next few months, if it ends up any are near you, maybe we can sit down and have a beer or something.

Glenn, I actually have your bars and bumper at home and where I train people in Canada. Bought them from Sorinex (1 set for my house, 1 set for the gym). Well, to be honest I have your bumpers but only you women’s bar (which is being used by one of my clients as I am typing this), I already had an Eleiko bar.
I’m in Quebec city although I’m in Colorado springs roughly 1 weeks every month.
I have used the I,Bodybuilder program this summer and got great results, but my martial arts training season is about to begin again and it will take most of my time. Do you have any tips how I could make an effective 3 way split similar to the 4 way split you described at the beginning of this thread?
I was thinking that maybe I should drop the arms day and add 1-2 arm exercises to both push and pull day’s end circuits, but thats kinda low volume for arms. I could really use your opinion on this one.
this programe looks and sounds amzaing!! cant wait try it out,im jus still tryin to understand it,sounds and lokks like ya only train for about 30mins,is that about right? just hope i do this right…adam from not so sunny UK
