Without a doubt, Requiem for a Dream. The last 15 minutes is one of the most disturbing things I’ve ever seen. I’ve never been one to be freaked out by “scary movies” and even though this one wasn’t intended to be scary, it fucked me up good.
Larry Clark’s first film “Kids” was pretty upsetting. “The Exorcist” fucked me up when I was a kid. Theres a flick with James Woods called “Videodrome” that I like a lot, most people find the gore hard to take. Theres a Japanese flim called “Guinea Pig: Flower of Flesh and Blood” that back in the mid 90’s was thought to be an actual “snuff film” it wasn’t but the gore and the acting are so realistic it makes for very unsettling viewing. I’m gone, outlaw.
i am with mike smith…Seven was the most fucked up movie i have ever seen. it is so damn twisted when it was over i just sat there like a vegetable for at least ten minutes. the whole aura of that movie was very unsettling. whoever wrote that screenplay is one SICK bastard. kevo
Liberate Te Exis Infernis
I liked the Omen series; there are no monsters or other stuff, but more down to earth scary shit…
Yes I agree with Lipo -Henry:Portrait of a Serial Killer is right up there as one of the most chilling movies I have seen. Maybe it’s because I watched it by myself one night alone on a very rainy night I don’t know- but thinking about the realism of some of the scenes - it still gives me the shivers.
TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE THE NEXT GENERATION starring Mathew McConanhe (sp.) and Rene Zellwigger (sp.). She actually sued to keep the movie from being released it was so bad. A few Halloweens ago a radio station in Corpus Christi sponsored a showing of it. We took some little bottles of Southern Comfort and bought some Sprite. It ends and everyone justs sits in silence as the lights in the theatre come on. Maybe we saw the version that had not yet been edited into sequence or something, but it made NO sense at all. I went home (about 2:30am, still drunk) and got out the phone book and called the guy who wrote it and the original Chainsaw Massacre–he lives in Port Aransas. I told him we had just seen his movie and wanted an explanation. He said he didn’t want to talk about it at 2:30 in the morning, so I called him back about 30 times over the next two days. He just kept hanging up on me. Then about 3 days later he knocks on our freaking door and says “Let’s Talk”. He got our name off the caller ID and tracked us down. He looked INSANE, so I said let’s go to Denny’s. I got in my car and he got in his truck to follow, but he just kept driving when I pulled into Dennys. That scared the crap out of me.
