Techinally you dont. Try not paying your property tax, you’ll find out who really owns it pretty quickly.

I hate fuckers that think they are the “tell it like it is without pulling any punches” types.

Yeah, there are things we all don’t like, but NOT saying everything you want to complain about does not mean you’re passive aggressive. We need to continually grease the wheels of society with the smooth clean-burning oil of manners and decorum.

The same is true of any property but I’m pretty sure if someone parks on my patio I can have their vehicle removed.

I wasn’t talking about private streets.

Theres a way to be honest and to the point without being an asshole. I am honest and tell it like it is, but do not feel you have to be a total dick. I think the main issue is that “assholes” are proud to be assholes, because they are honest and blunt and yadda yadda yadda, and the common phrases of “I pull no punches” and “its the pussification of America” comes out.

Now the pussification may be correct to a certain point…but the asshole role that people choose to bestow on themselves I feel is sometimes tough guy behavior and an attempt to be that guy…

Fuck assholes, theres a time and place for everything, but you could be honest without being a jerkoff uhh asshole.
For the record, I agree with you and used the term “asshole” because the OP self described himself as one in terms of speaking his mind … I don’t storm around being a dick because I can … Oftentimes just being respectfully honest is “being an asshole” to those who really don’t want honesty, because it disrupts the images they have of themselves or their accomplishments.

I think it comes down just as much to the attitude of the recipient as it does to the deliverer … Tactfully tell an egomaniac he’s wrong, and he’ll at the very least mentally label you an “asshole” “idiot” or a “malcontent” pretty quickly

If I don’t like someone, I don’t pretend I do - no matter their station in life. That doesn’t mean I flip them off every chance I get, but I won’t engage in idle banter with them just to make points. There is far too much of that bs in the world, IMO
This is exactly how I feel I should have written what I meant. On top of being an asshole, I’m also a poor writer.

Is getting mad that someone parks in front of my house being an asshole?
Yeah. I’m not a tough guy but I’ve told off more than one person who thought they owned the street in front of their homes.

My grandfather once had his hands around some guy’s neck and said “You threaten him and I’ll kill you” because some tough guy rudely told my uncle he didn’t want him to park in front of his home and that he’d wreck his car if he did so. So Tough Guy/Asshole encountered an even tougher guy.

If someone is going to freely behave like an asshole, be ready.
I generally don’t threaten, and usually if I threaten it’s probably going to happen unless the reasoning ends. Nothing tough about it, just don’t like to shell out empty threats. But if I ask nicely am I no longer an asshole?

Most people are assholes lately.

That isn’t an accomplishment.

This is only a good thing if your life is overall heading in a successful direction and you, family and friends are overall positive.

If you act like this and work as a cashier at Walmart with goals of one day working in the Stocking bay if you work hard enough, this is a cry for help.

If you act like this and don’t have a job because of your addiction to role playing games and skittles, this is a cry for help.

Being an asshole is only impressive if you make it work for you.

Maybe you are not an asshole, but just a normal male homo sapien. The rest of the world is not normal. That is how I look at it.

By this standard, I am, undeniably, a major asshole.
I know this got passed over but I do have to comment here. I’m young but with T levels in the 400ng/dL range so I got on Dr Rx’d TRT and am now floating around 1000-1100ng/dL. I can honestly say that I do put up with less shit and I am more willing to express myself than the reserved person I was then. I wouldn’t say adding T has made me more of an asshole but it definitely has made me less of a pushover and more confident in myself.

Is your patio built over top of the road in front of your house? If not, I’m having trouble seeing the relevance of your statement.

In general, if there’s a specific reason you don’t want them to park in front of your house, like, say it impedes your ability to get into your driveway or it takes space that you expect a friend or family member to use at some point, then no, you’re not an ass hole.

Also, if they park in front of your house when there’s plenty of space elsewhere for them to park, then that makes THEM ass holes.

Now, if you just don’t want them to park there because you’re a nazi about the road in front of your house and there’s nowhere else for them to park, then in my book, yes, you are a complete ass hole.

But maybe I’m just an ass hole for being honest.

This whole fucking thread is a cry for help.

OP how old are you?

If you’re a low quality person AND an “asshole”…in reality you are just a shitsmear. If you are a top notch human, but possess the qualities you have described, then you wouldn’t even make this thread.

For the past months, don’t know how long exactly, I have gradually stopped giving a shit what other people think of me or my actions, and I have stopped also caring what I say in public about anyone. I am not lying, I am saying the truth. I am not sharing anyone’s secrets, but if he does something I don’t like or approve, I am going to speak my mind, not in the nicest manner usually.

Therefore, I have turned into an asshole. Any advice for me? A book to read on self-restraint, psychology or something that will help me fix this? I have tried to just not speak my mind, but I can’t, I really can’t. It is slowly building up into me and then BOOM, all hell breaks loose. Any advice?
SO YOU DON’T CARE WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK AND THEN YOU ASK FOR ADVICE??!?!!!

I have to agree here.

If you don’t care what people think, making this thread would not have crossed your mind.

Also, some people are assholes because they have emotional disorders. It is ok to ask for help with that.

However, no, being an asshole for the sake of it is just being another lemming taking up space.

if you are an asshole who has some seriously strong personal characteristics and goals and helps those around him reach for better, then yeah, be as “assholish” as you want.

No body wants to hear from the asshole who hasn’t done shit for anyone else or themselves.

It is in relation to his statement that I will no longer own it if I fail pay the taxes. This is true of any property, including the property my patio is built on. Does not give anyone a RIGHT to park on private property, which includes private roads.

For the record I could not give two shits if someone parks in front of my house if there is a reason for them to be there, although it is a narrow dead end road and the neighbors lawn care guy has a tendency to make pulling in and out of my difficult. In fact I was such an asshole that I politely asked him to pull his rig forward so I could back into my drive like I normally do. You know what that asshole did? He said sure no problem and pulled up.

So OP, what are you Really trying to tell us?

When I was last eating ~6 meals/day, I found myself increasingly becoming an asshole. I mention the meal frequency because sure enough, it would show up every few hrs alongside my hunger and steadily increase until the “next meal” was consumed.

Eventually, I would re-train my body/hormones around 2-3 larger meals/day and long gone are those days of consistent, hunger-induced bouts of snarky assholishness.
