Hypothyreosis and Testosterone Enanthate

Hello everyone, I just had my blood checked, it shows high TSH = 5.5 ( normal is 0.5 - 4.9 ), this is a indicator of hypothyreosis. I have been sick around Christmas for a week and didnt have apetite for like 2 weeks and after that gone in caloric deficit because it seemed like a good idea to do a cut with higer protein intake , low carbs and moderate good fats intake. I had lot of stress in my life with exams and shit… and I think that this, mixed with agressive deficit and previous illness caused my TSH to raise and slow down the thyroid activity to help body achieve homeostasis. Now I returned my carbs and calories to normal and should start my 12 week 400mg test E cycle on friday. Does anyone know how additional testosterone affects thyroid functioning. Now I probiably have low testosterone caused by hypothyreosis and my metabolism is slower which is not very good. I have seen somewhere that test could lower T3,T4 and TSH… Please help, I would appreciate if someone has medical background to give your opinion. Much love!

Please don’t wait but get an mri down to check for a pituitary Tumor. I had the same symptoms flare up every now and then, and I’m a new man since the Tumor is removed.

Damn man, this is the first time for me to have elevated TSH level, I hope it is just caused by caloric deficit and stress. I saw that Testosterone should rise T3 and T4 and lower TSH levels. Is there any endocrinologist here ?

Hey buddy physiolojik is very knowledgeable in these matters, but just to let you know, about 10% of all people have some sort of thyroid irregularity, so it’s good to make sure

Stimulating effect of TSH on T4/T3 production is very variable.
Effect of androgens on thyroid hormones biochemistry is not worth of attention even in case of pathology.

If you suspects hypothyreosis - take T4 and/or T3.
Under adequate doses it’s save and not supresses endogenous secretion of T3/T4. There will not be even transitory lowering of them after withdrawal(but TSH several weeks will be higher).
