Hydrogen Peroxide Baths?

I have chronic sinusitis, which sucks. From what Coach X wrote, it seems like this treatment has anti-fungal properties and that it improves recovery by accelerating the toxin removal process.

Any opinions?

Have you ever tried Xlear? It’s a nasal wash that is very good for the lining of the nose. My son used to get chronic sinitus and this helped him a great deal.

Nope I haven’t tried it but will do so now, thanks ZEB.

Do you expect the hydrogen to soak through the skin into your muscle or something?
If so then that isn’t going to happen, if not then why the hell would you soak in hair bleach other than to kill every bit of bacteria on your skin surface (good stuff included).

The thing that I don’t get about hydrogen peroxide therapy is what exactly they think it does. They can’t provide a mechanism as to how it works or what it benefits. Sure, it kills some pathogenic organisms, but it also attacks your own cells.

Your body has a pretty good system built in to get rid of singlet oxygen and to clear peroxides. I’m pretty sure peroxides are one of the lysing chemicals your body uses to break stuff down, via peroxisomes and lysosomes and what have you. Then they have to get disposed of, think “clean up in aisle three”.

As far as using it as a topical soak or body wash, I’d stick to plain old soap. Washes the nasties down the drain and isn’t as harsh on the hide.

As a restorative measure, I’d use (and have/do use) epsom salts before I’d soak in dilute H2O2.

Just my $.02, for what it’s worth. (Market value may vary.)

Diluted 3%? You pussies. Undiluted 12% is the way to go. Great on the skin, fixes what ails ya.

The crazy thing is that I’m not joking.

I’ve used H2O2 in the ear canal (diluted with sterile H2O) to clear out ear wax impactions on patients (can get fucking nasty). However, there are much better products out there for cleaning up wounds and debriding major breaks in the skin.

That being said I’ve used H202 and epsom salts in bathwater before and can declare that it’s a pretty good remedy for what ails ya. I have a cronic shoulder and knee issue that demands theraputic attention at least once a week as I get older. The bath’s have been a welcome addition to the healing/recovery process.

Can you PM me or give me/us your process for this bath. I’ve got a bad shoulder also and would love to try it out.

by the way, I caught a cold recently and tried putting 3 drops of 3% in my ears. Nothing gained but cleaner ears. I also gargled with it. Kinda weird. I soaked all out toothbrushes in it also. Probably about like soaking them in Listerine.

And last, take it easy on us in the Alamo bowl this year. Our coaching staff is clueless.

Good God! Are they really saying to use an IV drip but not to do anything stupid like drink it???
