Just bought a townhome in Jupiter Florida. We are expecting Charlie, a cat 5 hurricane to hit a few miles up the road. Fuck me!!!
I think you mean Frances. Oh, and good luck.

Dude, It’s Frances and it’s going to hit the east coast first. You’re ARE IN THE PERFECT LOCATION for a hurricane party. You won’t get the 140+, but may still get hurricane force winds…
LOL!
I’m sorry if I’m laughing, but sometimes you gotta laugh to keep from crying.
By the way, can I have your TV?

Umm, just what kind of party are you hoping for? Luckily, Im in TX.
Good luck.
Yeah I’m in Fort Lauderdale and we are taking it seriously enough to close the office tomorrow and Friday.

Dude, Jupiter IS on the east coast.
I’m in Gainesville in an old apartment building…that’s about an hour south of Jacksonville for anyone who doesn’t know. And Jacksonville is where the eye is currently heading if it follows the predicted track. This is going to be interesting, that’s for sure.
This sounds like a dick measuring contest, so here we go!
No offense guys, but you’ll never beat Galveston 1900. There’s just SO MUCH that this town has to be proud of…
Cheers
Right on! and that damn TS Allison that got me stranded all night a few years ago! Who knew it would double back and dump another foot of rain while I was at the bar with a female friend. It was only a couple miles from home but damn it I’ve never seen flooding like that in that area and so wide spread! Despite being so close to home, I checked my ego at the door and parked my car in the garage and watched the water raise and laugh at fools trying to cut across the water and not making it.

how about this, i’ve been through a tropical storm whilst living in orlando, fl.
I just dealt with Charlie not even three weeks ago in Orlando and we are about to get hammered even harder than the first. This bastard is the size of Texas and moving so slow that it is going to take twenty four hours to sink Florida

Same here, only my apartment is newer and sturdier!
And if worse comes to worse, I can take a short drive to my dad’s house, put the S2K in the garage and hope we don’t take too much of the hurricane.
As I learned in Geology class many years ago, Gainesville is one of the safest places in Florida. So hopefully, that will hold true, and we’ll only get some wind and rain, but nothing too serious.
