I know there are others like me who hate eating and see food as fuel to bulk up with rather than anything to enjoy.
I hate prepping food, hate eating it, hate washing up after myself. It’s a massive waste of time, especially if you work 12 hour shifts like me, and I try to gulp all my meals down in under 2 minutes, so I don’t taste anything anyway. Even ready-meals are annoying because you have to wait for them to cool down after microwaving them.
It got me thinking - is there any human equivalent of dog food where you can eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner and in between, and it will provide you with all the nutrients you need (carbohydrate/protein/fats + vitamins and minerals) to survive and be healthy?
If you’re bulking, eat more of it, if you’re cutting, eat less of it. Simple as can be.
Ideally it should be cheap (obviously) and also be able to be eaten cold (so you don’t have to wait for it to cool down)…?
Does this exist?
If you’re on a diet that is almost like this (same easy-to-make and balanced meal over and over) - tell me what you eat?
IMO I equate cereals to dog food, as in neither are ideal for either one to consume. It’s funny what passes as “dog food” these days.
Don’t think for a moment that dog food provides what our pets need to thrive, thus there is no such thing for humans.
Mother Nature cannot be improved upon food wise.
You have a few options.
Change jobs
Get good at meal prepping 1-2x week
Change goals
I’m usually gone from 545am- to eitehr 5pm or 7pm
I’m eating every 2-3 hrs right now while bulking, and it’s a PITA to eat so often and to come home every night and cook my breakfast for the next morning, and make my shakes for the next day. My wife and I also cook up meat for a few days on Sundays and steam veggies to last the week.
I also don’t have kids (I don’t know how parents do it with this type of goal).

You must be my long lost twin lol. That is my philosophy on food to the letter.

I fortuately don’t really care what I eat. It’s really easy for me to have the same thing daily.
On the flip side, unless you are making sure you are getting all your nutrients; eating the same thing daily even if really healthy can be dangerous to your total health.
I came in this thinking ‘dog food’ like the crappy grocery store types. Those are akin to most fast food joints. You can live on it and many people do, but a good portion react very badly after a few months on a fast food only diet.
IMHO, grilling up a bunch of chicken breasts (or whatever protein you favor), a tons of veggies and some other carb source like a brown rice/bean etc on one day of the week and then portioning it out and freezing it is excellent. Especially when you have a domesticated servant…err, I mean wife that likes you are eating healthy and willing to do all the work
That prison loaf doesn’t seem appealing to me, but does look like a very complete food source and probably freezes for decades.

Cup of oatmeal
4 eggs
Cup of milk
3 tablespoons peanut butter
Pinch of salt
Washed down with a cup of grapefruit juice.
Beat the eggs and salt into the milk and then add the oatmeal, mix in. Stick in the Microwave for 2-3 minutes. Mix in the peanut butter and eat. 3 of these a day will give you 100% or more of the DVA of all necessary vitamins and minerals, apart from vitamin K (which you could consider supplementing) and over 200g of protein. I lived almost exclusively on this stuff for 3 months with no issues and decent gains. Takes no time to prepare and is very cheap.

Of course.
In terms of price per calorie those are not the best option.

In terms of nutrition, still not the best option.
I was concentrated on “equivalent of dog food” portion of the question.
In all honesty you can find a canned product like Chef Boyardee Beef Ravioli and Buy it in the 40oz can.
That would yield/can:
1042 calories
37 grams of protein
29 grams of fat
151 grams of carbs
If you ate 1-3 40oz cans of Beef Ravioli throughout the day and added in a couple vitamin fortified protein shakes to hit your macros… Close enough to dog food without cooking that I can think of.

This thread is depressing. Cooking and eating can be one of the great joys of life and it can help performance at the same time. Each to his own, I guess.

Is doing extra laundry for your workout clothes or commuting to the gym 15-30 minutes a waste of time?
That doesn’t sound too great for digestion. Any issues?

Monkey chow.
Or, only slightly more seriously because I can’t really wrap my head around this level of laziness, spinach and red bell pepper omelet with/on toast. Best I can think of off the top of my head for quality protein, carbs, and fat, with a big hit of veggie goodness.

The more I cook and experiment with recipes, the more I agree with this.
I think some people are missing the fact that many of us can barely find time for workouts, yet alone extra cooking, cleaning, etc that goes with it.
If you have the time to prep and cook every meal at your leisure then your meal plans will be a lot different than someone that needs to brown bag it more or less.
Blend everything that you need to eat and drink. I don’t say I recommend this or do it but if you really hate eating that much then this is the only way I can see it being easy for you.
