Thanks!

One of the things that have allowed this site to survive as long as it has is the willingness (and business insight) of Tim and TC to adjust and adapt.

I’ll say it a million times…if you don’t adjust and adapt in this business you won’t be around for long.

Do many of you guys actually think that the two of them sit around and say:

“Ummmm…let me see who I can insult and piss off…because I just LOVE to hear people write on a Website I spend millions of dollars on a year what a SHITTY job I’m doing?”

OR

Like any business person trying to survive, are they trying their best to respond to a marketplace that changes faster that pork futures?

I think that all of you could help the guys the most by offering some constructive ideas; and not get pissed and run off with your toys because the marketplace ( not necessarily Tim and TC) does not, and has not, responded to those ideas.

Here’s my two cents for “MWA” that I THINK (not KNOW) would work as some viable Forums that would incorporate the spectrum of Strength, Sports and Competition:

Training Logs

Contest Preparation

Female Health

Supplements, Diets and Nutrition

Sports, Strength and the Active Female

Sex, Rock and Roll and Other Chick Stuff

Am I completely happy with every change that has been made?

No…as a matter of fact, a couple of recent issues had me questioning my continued involvement on the Site…

But guess what?

Despite whatever ideas I may have, other than some supplement purchases, I’m not putting my money, ass and livelihood on the line to keep this thing going…

One also has to decide what it is that drives them in their business endeavors. Do they want to stay loyal to long time customers, providing top notch customer service, serving a niche market, and probably not showing the highest amounts of profit? Or do they want to go wherever the mainstream market goes in order to cash in on the latest fads; maximizing profit yet abandoning the most loyal customers? Biotest is obviously choosing the latter.

Sic is not jealous about not being the Powerful I mage of the day. She is not whining. She is frustrated. There are several of us that feel the exact same way she does. As a matter of fact, I made my opinion known when TC notified us about the forum name change.

I feel there should be a separate forum for fitness competitors. As it stands, all women have been lumped together in the same category. I could care less about all of the hundreds of logs & journals & whatever else it is that there is to read now. What happened to real women working out because they love to? I don’t have a competition coming up & I don’t have a photo shoot to get ready for. Does that mean I don’t work as hard? Hell no.

Like many of the other women on here who used to post, I have no where to go to be inspired anymore. NOT WHINING, just stating a fact.
What specifically do you need?

As you know, MWA is primarily for Figure competitors.

There are just so many women interested in this area that it would have been nuts to ignore it.

You still have T-Nation to inspire you, or do you need stuff specifically aimed at women lifters (non-figure)?

I’m good with the sex and rock and roll.

That is precisely what we have been saying. I was under the impression that you were going to make a few changes to make women feel as if they had more of a place to call their own.

The only thing I see is that you invited a bunch of women over, added a few figure models to give some advice & “created” a figure forum where there was none before. That is my opinion for what it is worth.

TC, I still love ya, I’m just not happy with the way things have turned out in regards to the MWA forum.

What is “loyalty”?

Keeping a viable site going, that while not catering to ALL my ideas, at least addresses a significant number of them…OR create some site that has about 10 posters who post about every 10 days, with the majority of those post being critical of someone or something?

Who says they are doing “either/or”? (i.e. Responding to their “loyal” customers while respecting the marketplace?)

Have you owned, or so you now own, a business? Have you competed in this market?

Do you know their margins? Do you know their per unit profits?

The list goes on and on. If you don’t know many of these things, then what they do is not nearly as “obvious” as you may think.

Mufasa

That would be nice!

Because there is not a man alive that can understand what it’s like to try and squeeze a pair of D-cups into a bench shirt.

There are just some things that are specific issues to female strength and performance athletes, and it would be nice to have just ONE small forum to discuss these things with each other.

Very well put as per usual.

Let us all take a deep breath and realize, we still have it pretty damn good.

Did we not have this discussion 6 months ago?

No, but it’s sure fun to watch

Sic, Jilly, etc. if you don’t like fake tans and big boobs then quit whining and start threads you want to discuss on T-Nation. You just sound whimpier than the fake tan, big boobed, skinny chicks with all the whining you do about things not being what they used to be.
When did you join? January 2007, huh? And you have 58 total posts. Wow. How long have Jilly, Proxy, and I been around? A long ass time.

We used to have a tight-knit community that offered us the ability to discuss things of interest without feeling like the outsiders. That is no longer the case. Of course we wish things were different. We wish we were given just as much respect and space as the figure girls… instead of being told to go elsewhere on the forums, where we “fit in” better. WTF indeed.

I never said anything about big boobs, I mentioned dieting. I have a big problem with every woman being told to diet. I have a big problem with every new poster saying their only goal is to “lose fat and tone.” I have a big problem with the emphasis being on appearance, not on health. And I have an even bigger problem with the “expertise” that everyone dishes out, regardless of their training experience. I’ve seen some really bad advice floating around and I’ve seen a scary amount of eating disorders being created. That has nothing to do with big boobs.

The drone I keep hearing in the 10 months I’ve been posting here is coming from Jillybop and Sic who keep talking about getting in shape and building muscle. They talk the talk but never seem to reach their goals.
I’m 7 months pregnant. So for only 3 of the months that you have been on this site have I been able to train seriously. Of course you haven’t seen me reach my goals, how could I at this time?

And tedro, that was a 255lb deadlift, from back when I was 2 months pregnant. =D

Since when are figure competitors mainstream?

This is my feeling exactly! I’m all about T-Nation and Biotest increasing their market share. I love quite a few of their supplements and I certainly don’t want them to stop being available. If this means they need to expand their business to include all sorts of “athletes,” so be it.

But how hard could it possibly be to create one tiny forum in which to discuss strength sports or just lifting heavy shit for women who like that? I bet one of the tech guys could whip up a new forum section in less time than it took me to post this topic.

Just acknowledge that not all women share similar goals, and acknowledge that our goals and interests are just as valid as those of the bikini-clad revenue generating females who have taken over what used to be a more diverse forum.

I guarantee you that this “whining” would stop immediately if we were given a space to discuss our sport. We’re not even asking for articles or mentors geared towards our passion. All we want is some space to discuss our interests without the glittery distraction of a hobby that is completely foreign to us.

Especially considering some of the MWA subforums get little-to-no traffic.

Would you care if this area were in MWA or would you prefer that it were on Testosterone?

How about Testosterone?

Yeah, I know you’re not asking me specifically, but I thought I’d jump in now and place my vote.

I’m a wee little 18 year old boy, but I’d love to see it in Testosterone.
