Huh? What's It All About?

But there is no place for women interested in such things to congregate. The guys have a much broader range of choices.

WTF? No place for the women to congregrate? Are they such soft pansies that they can’t hang out where ever they want? Why can’t they hang out on any thread on T-Nation that they want and who says they have to congregate only on MWA? So far I haven’t seen any signs that say “No females allowed” on this site.

Sic, Jilly, YoMama, etc. if you don’t like fake tans and big boobs (that were already pointed out to be a big part of bodybuilding, like it or not) then quit whining and start threads you want to discuss on T-Nation. You just sound whimpier than the fake tan, big boobed, skinny chicks with all the whining you do about things not being what they used to be.
WTF? Someone that has been here all of 10 months is going to tell me what to do and where to go? LMAO

It used to be the T-vixen sorority. No such thing as a t-vixen in the women’s section any more. They have been replaced with bitter, angry assholes like you.

Who is whining? The only drone I hear is coming from you.

If you don’t like the fact that the old timers are sick and tired of the way t-vixens - real t-vixens - are being treated in deference to the sore-bought titty brigade, who really cares?

You are the very type of personality that gives MWA the reputation that it does. Trust me - that is not a good thing.

But I agree with Utah. It will not change. Estrogen is being pumped in this place by the barrel.

As others have said, it obviously has to do with marketing and the bottom line. The site is basically dedicated to two things from a marketing perspective, as I see it:

1.) Men – the core of the customer base here. Apart from their own workout/nutritional needs, men happen to like to look at T&A. Most of those men (not all, but most), like it or not, do find fitness-type women to be more sexually appealing than powerlifter- or large bodybuilder-type women. That’s just the way the numbers shake out. So as far as what the viewers are being given to LOOK AT on this site on the side of the screen, Biotest chose to give them T&A. Makes sense from a marketing perspective.

2.) Women who are either starting out with the whole exercise/nutrition path – the GREAT majority of whom strive to look much more like fitness contestants than bodybuilders or powerlifters, AND women who are already experienced/advanced in working out – again, of those, there are probably far more who are active in striving for or maintaining a “fitness” look as opposed to a bodybuilder/powerlifter look.

All of this is not to say that those same men who get wood over fitness-type women don’t like talking to, hanging out with or discussing training and nutrition with women who like to lift heavy and carry more mass. It’s also not to say that it wouldn’t be cool to occasionally see a P.I. with a strong chick deadlifting a big weight, or something like that.

But Biotest/T-Nation is about the bottom line, and they’re going after the two most obvious demographics for that. I don’t frequent the MWA forum, but it does seem to me that it’s a shame that it’s SUCH a separate site/entity. I didn’t envision that when they first announced they’d be creating it. I think perhaps the regular T-Nation site should still include a forum or forums for women who like to train harder and lift heavier, and aren’t newbies.
Well put.

I know that girls I have dated aspired to the “Fitness Look” much more than the Powerlifting/Female Bodybuilder look.

I’m not saying it is good or bad, just an observation. I for one can appreciate both.

Rainjack,
From some quick browsing over at the MWA boards, it would appear a lot of the women posting on there are at Level 0 or Level 1, so I’m sure if MWA is generating the type of income Biotest was hoping for when creating that site.

Yo Momma, you hit it right on the head with that first reply and I have nothing else to add on the topic.

I should have hit the /sarcasm button.
I thought you were being sarcastic, but I wasn’t quite sure so I thought I’d nail the point home anyway.

Read your own posts. How hard is that, really?

To quote you “Reading Comprehension 101. Try it”. Practice what you preach, sister. I find it almost impossible for you to write the shit you write, and have no idea what the fuck you are saying. Honestly, are you blonde?

How noble of you. But it smells more like angry, bitter bitch syndrome to me. Unlike the multitude of the store bought titty brigade, sic and Jilly actually go to the fucking gym. Not the plastic surgeon/tanning booth.

Who said anything about horrible treatment? Pay attention. Making up points that do not exist is not exactly how we do things around here.

With all those forums couldn’t one be for power/strength athletes?

Dammit! I’ve been doing everything wrong so far!!!

Hitting the water diet now…

I was told that “Muscle Sorority” is for the power/strength athletes.

I was told this several times.

Doesn’t hurt to keep asking, though, maybe one day I’ll get a different answer. I just blame my “forgetfulness” on brain damage.

So did the figure girls get lost on there way to beauty tips 101 or maybe they thought they were in apparel.

I like some of the figure competitors. And I poke around for recipes and diet ideas. But I would prefer to have a seperate section for strength.

On the plus side, comments like this never would have made it passed the mods in the past.

The drone I keep hearing in the 10 months I’ve been posting here is coming from Jillybop and Sic who keep talking about getting in shape and building muscle. They talk the talk but never seem to reach their goals. And I feel it’s okay to say that to them since in a recent thread they complained the girls weren’t honest enough with each other. So hopfully they can take a little dose of honesty too.
How do you know anything about my goals or my progress? I don’t keep a log here and I haven’t posted about myself recently. If you’re interested, feel free to check out my recent videos in my profile. I’m doing just fine, thankyouverymuch.

WTF does that have to do with the topic of this thread? Why are some women incapable of discussing and disagreeing without being nasty?

Jillybop:

For the record, I think you rock!

When the MWA site was first started, they made it clear that it was for figure/fitness chicks only because that is where the money is.

That’s why I stay over here.

Rockscar gets distracted easily when his gaydar goes off.

There is some question as to whether his is a warning system, or a detection system.
Rockscar wrote:

I can easily increase the gayness of my avatar if that is what you mean. There is a whole thread of gayness roaming around here somewhere.

Sic is not jealous about not being the Powerful I mage of the day. She is not whining. She is frustrated. There are several of us that feel the exact same way she does. As a matter of fact, I made my opinion known when TC notified us about the forum name change.

I feel there should be a separate forum for fitness competitors. As it stands, all women have been lumped together in the same category. I could care less about all of the hundreds of logs & journals & whatever else it is that there is to read now. What happened to real women working out because they love to? I don’t have a competition coming up & I don’t have a photo shoot to get ready for. Does that mean I don’t work as hard? Hell no.

Like many of the other women on here who used to post, I have no where to go to be inspired anymore. NOT WHINING, just stating a fact.

Strictly a warning system. Your own avatar says level 4 High level of Gayness.
