so, yesterday was a low body deadlift day scheduled, but i was going to let my groin rest a little longer, but i put my best bud stephen through a workout, and got into the mood watching him.

so, i had a pair of gym shorts and flip flops on, and he was doing cleans with 70kg. between his sets of 5, i would do sets of 20 from the hang with the 70kg. ugh, super pump traps and upper arms.

i did 2 sets of 20, then after his next set, i threw 160kg on the bar and did deadlifts with it for 11 reps.

that is no belt, no shoes, no straps, 160kg x 11. easy and fun.

finished with some chins and barbell curls and called it a day.

vids of the half naked deads will be up later today on my t-page. as soon as i solve my mouse problems, i will embed the vids on the thread.

Barry - you’re a frickin’ animal. That weight would flip my skinny ass right off the bench.

Barry, you are the only one of us aged ones doing the pull over. I know about your shoulder injury but with your baseball background and that kind of pullover strength I bet you could chunk a spear a fur piece.
HT, best thing for the groin is a massage. May not fix it but it’ll take your mind of the problem.

bench is feeling better. since i have no left elbow, and my right elbow is begining to hurt like my left did before i had surgery, i have had to relearn to bench, using a wider grip and more chest and delt involvement.

its been a rebuilding process, but its coming along i think finally. i will never be where i used to be, but if i can get to where i can press 300lbs again for a max and mid 200’s for reps i will be happy.

tested out the tweaked groin today with squats, well it is not ready for prime time let me tell ya.

squats- 110kgx10, 120kgx10, 130kgx10, 140kgx10, 160kgx3-ouch!!! should have stopped at the previous set.

Checkin’ the front page of the local newspaper everyday to make sure Barry and the crew are bein’ good in Texas!

Everything here is as good as can be expected…still haven’t found a full-time job yet but have a solid lead on subbing in a local high school. Money is gonna be tight, real tight, until a full-time job is landed.

I have been active at work but not many workouts in the garage over the last several weeks…hope all is well with the gang!

Hit the buffet today in Longview, TX. Training bench tomorrow with Jimmy T and the crew. Minor injuries a nagging problem. It will be great seeing Jimmy T. A wonderful weekend to our crew. Train hard and lift heavy.

Well it was a great time indeed!!!Barry got in around two and we went to the gym on saturday.The whole team was there and we hit bench.Barry hit the rack and he will fill you in on that.We Bar-B-Qued some steaks and all the fixins and hit Hunters birthday party for some cake and ice cream. We are blessed my friends. We all went to bed early and hit the gym today at noon.

Sounds like a great time had by all, an no one got arrested! Those curls are just plain outstanding.

Today was an awesome time with a great friend thanks to this site and thread. But honestly the day before sucked. my rack pulls were pathetic. What I did the previous days doesn’t matter. Could barely move 605, I’ve done that for reps. Embarassed, pissed , and mainly humbled. Thanks to the folks here at HT’s thread. Jimmy T is a saint and 1 strong mofo and my friend. he trains smart and I don’t. What we do is make memories and that’s fucking priceless. Enough said, God bless. Out, The Missouri Mule.

i so envy you guys who get together and train and eat together, good times. i need some of those, especially now, i am in such a confused and emotional mess it is not even funny. damn, why do we complicate our lives so much?
