cant sprint or push prowler yet, so for conditioning i did farmers walks around the block x 1 with the 50lb dumbbells. dont like these. you get a burn in your forearms and traps way before you run out of lung.

this is supposed to be conditioning. cant wait till I can push prowler again.

for anybody who cares…saw my sports medicine specialist yesterday about my quad, and yes, confirmed, I have a significant strain/tear upper left quadriceps with some involvement of my IT band. Not ready for rehab yet, more massage, PROM and heat and ART for now.

EMG of my arms today (having trouble with debilitating right forearm pain and bilateral hand and finger numbness for months) confirmed bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome.

left “moderate”, right “moderate to severe”.

not sure what the next step it is, but glad that for now my hand numbness is perhaps not a Cervical spine issue.

only training for today was slow and easy 10 minutes on the airdyne bike, and light farmers walks with 50lb db, 4 x 40 yards.

hey all! been a long time since my last post, after my quad tear, and finding out i will need surgery on my wrists for severe carpal tunnel, I have been feeling pretty sorry for myself and trying to rehab and rebuild myself.

I wont bore you with details, but as far as the leg goes, 2 weeks of passive rom and massage and ART, foam rolling, etc, then added in some active rom against gravity and stretching, then some mild resistance.

here is where I am now. I train everyday, prowl every day, and squat and press every day.

the pressing is either a strict military press, push press, or power jerk, or dip.

prowler everyday, have not started sprinting with it yet, injured leg is not ready for that, but controlled walks with an exaggerated rom, to get leg work in.

squat every day, either with just bodyweight, the bar, or up to 60kg. reps are 10-30 at least.

cannot do any single leg movements yet.

deadlift 1 time a week 90-110kg, 5 x 10-20 reps

chins and curls 1-2 times a week, 10x5 or 5x10.

carpal tunnel will not allow any cleans or snatches, in fact, all my upper body pulling has to be done with a palms up/out grip only, cannot even do a neutral grip on pulling as my wrists, forearms are so fucked up.

I have been getting ridiculously strong (for me, lol) in the overhead work.

and the high rep squatting and prowling every day has got had an odd affect, I am GAINING weight.

240lbs, but still same waste size, and still very vascular in my arms, shoulders, thighs, calves.

today- chins, 3x10xbw, 2x10x25lbs
back squat bar x 50, 40kgx20, 60kgx20
power jerk 3x10x60kg, 1x10x70kg, 1x10x80kg
prowler (in the rain, no less) 6 trips.

yesterday-

A1 front squat 5x10x70kg
A2 press 5x10x70kg
B prowler 10 trips

today-

A deadlift 160kgx5, 5x10x120kg
B1 barbell curl5x10x40kg
B2 pushups with 2 chains on back 5x10
C prowler 4 trips

Greetings fellow wackos!!!Wasn’t going to go here but WTF. Getting over very minor stress fracture in right wrist. Feel ya on the carpal tunnel. Chapter 346 of Barry’s stupid gym tricks. Spent 10 days couldn’t write, shave, masterbate, wipe, etc. with right wrist. Felt great loaded 16 plates and picked it up and right wrist wasn’t a player. Still swells a bit after a workout. No more stupid pulls. Going to be 56 in August. PM me if address is needed for gifts. Wish the crew was healthier. I’m back at it with ice after every workout. Wrap the wrist tight every lift, shouldn’t go heavy but I’m an idiot.

I used to but I was spotty at best keeping up with it so now I just read and occasionally post to support everyone else. My goal for 2011 is to get back to the same numbers I had in 2005 raw. (500, 335, 500) so I am using this meet as a starting point and then I will do another meet in November and see if I make it. I have no idea what my numbers will be in two weeks, kinda flying blind here…lol

Ummm… out of curiousity, where in Pennsylvania are you, if you don’t mind my asking? And which meet?

No worries, I live just south of Pittsburgh, Near Washington. The meet is in Erie it is an ADAU RAW meet. I will be going up Friday night because it is about 2 hours from me and weigh ins are early. It’s funny because I had wanted to compete in the 242 and I was sitting at 253 for the last month. I decided about a week ago to compete int he 275’s and I gained 5 pounds this week…lol

No way! I live just north of Pittsburgh near the airport in Coraopolis. We should get together.
