HT's What The Hell Am I Doing Part II

mmmm… maybe not. the scale is not always your friend. i am lighter, but i look pretty flat and flabby right now IMO. i think i am doing a bit too much, and not eating enough of the right things. how i have been doing it so far is busting my ass on the prowler, and cutting our evening snacking/grazing. simply put, decreasing total calories and increasing work. i might need to do something a little more structured, like more frequent smaller meals to see more positive changes.

yesterday-

prowler, 6 sprints, low handle

today-

military, 185x5, 205x3, 225x2, 5x10x135

pushups 3x20

db rows, 2x12x150(straps), 1x15x110(no straps)

chins 1x10

gonna do a deload next week, easy stuff, probably all machines, everything feeling pretty beat up right now.

wow… two days later and i am back up to 224lbs. i think i lood better, but the scale does not lie, or does it. or better yet, who lies more, the scale or the mirror? lol

sat- prowler 2 minutes on 1 minute off with 220lbs.

sunday- AM tabata on airdyne and tabata on row machine
PM prowler sprints, 6 trips with low handles 220lbs

today- deload upper
bench 3x6x185, no elbow sleeve, all reps paused, easy and smooth, no pain
chins 3x10xbw, dead hang, pause at top.
barbell curls 3x20x65lbs
bench dips 3x20xbw
tabata on airdyne,
tabat on rower

done, easy stuff, nothing hurting!

Scale lies the Mirror reveals, you are doing good work. 5 pounds can be a hot dog bun when you are low carbing it and have a refeed. Hey those Chins don’t hurt your shoulders, big dog? I talked to Tom Deeble yesterday and he told me to lay off the overhead pulling for me. Seeing you bench with no pain is Awesome!

no, chins dont bother my shoulders, pressing does, but the weights i use for pressing is so limited with my elbow probs, that is not a real issue either.

i dont know where everybody has been, i have been abandoned!!! not lifting heavy anymore so i guess this thread is not as interesting as it used to be…lol

Howdy folks. I’ve lost weight too, down to 285. No speedo for me, don’t want to scare the children. My computer is friend so posting from the office. Training is ok. Missed training with Jimmy T the last trip except at the dinner table where we were stellar. Hope everyone has a great 4th.

hey all…thanks for stopping by this thread. I have gained weight since the wedding…up to 227. ugh… ill get back on track after my family leaves and i can get back on my usual schedule.

monday- military press…100kg x 1.
chins 5x10
barbell curls, 40kgx20
upright rows 40kgx20
prolwer 6 sprints

tuesday-off

wedensday- squat 140kgx5 olympic style…went deep to see how the back and knee would hold up… did ok. will try to post a vid if i can get it from my blackberry to my laptop.
glute ham raises 5x10
abds 1x20
back raises 1x20x45lbs
one leg squats 20 reps
prowler 8 trips

here are the squats from yesterday. now this is a bit different than i have been doing them…last few months, due to back, quad, and knee issues, I HAVE been doing them with a wider stance and cutting depth to about an inch above parallel. last night, i did ATG just to see what would happen. started real slow, with the bar, and added 10-30kg each set till i got to 140kg. so far nothing is WORSE.

btw, this is my nephew, a 119lb wrestler…viiting from alabama, doing a No-no-no squat with 90kg. [video]1762[/video]

getting a little stale…gonna change things up…basically gonna reverse what i have been doing…was conditioning 5-6 times a week, lifting 2-3 times.

now going to lift 5-6 times…and condition2-3 times.

I despised body part splits, so i am going to break up my lifting days will center on a particular lift. sticking with basics.

mon- deads/prowler
tues- chins/military
wed- squats/prowler
thurs-bench/rows
friday- cleans
sat- dips/bb curls
sun- rest

so…last night i benched…worked up to 100kgx3
did some fu-fu finishers with light dumbbells, thats it!

friday my back was too beat up for any real lifting, so i did sprints with the prowler, then GHR and abds.

sat- dips 5 sets
barbell curls 5 sets
prowler 3 rounds 2 minutes continuous walking
