today, sort of a big deal for me. i benched 225 for reps without any pain or “bad” feelings in my surgical elbow.
also did lots of dips without any unstable wierd tugging in said elbow as well. i have benched 225 and done real bw dips since surgery, but usually with like two elbow sleeves on the arm, and i always have feeling of impending disasterous injury, as since my reconstruction surger all my attachments are, well, just “wrong”
bench press moderate grip 185x5 205x3, 225x2, 5x10x135
close grip bench 5x10x135
dips 4x10 x bodyweight.
chins 5x10xbw(all reps with a pause at top)
prowler
BTW thanks Barry and Hel and everyone else for the compliments.
yesterday, after i posted the above workout, i had a moment of weakness and ate a bowl of peanut butter cup ice cream.
to punish myself, i pushed the prowler afterwords, at about 9:30 pm(neighbors think i am crazy for sure), really upped the intensity, and did FOUR rounds of 2 minutes continuous and 1 minute off. then did GHR 2x15. ugh. calves and hams SCREAMING!
today…thursday… raining so no prowler…wnent to gym and did a very intense tabata on airdyne bike, each round i kept the level to above 8.0 usual is above 6-7. heart almost stopped.
what can i say? my body is REALLY liking the decreased low body lifting and increased conditioning right now. looking at old pictures, i am leaner now at 225 than i was years ago at 205. SERIOUS.
i’m not strong anymore… at least i can be in shape, no?

bout the same collin…remember, not only did i tear the muscle off of the tendon, i “exploded” the tendon. i had next to nothing for the doc to reattach the muscle to. he was surprised the surgery worked at all and i was able to go back to work and not be permanently disabled.
my left upper arm is still nearly and inch smaller than my right, and with a direct triceps exercise, like overhead dumbbell triceps extensions, my left can lift only about 25% of what my right can do.

haha, trying to Collin! down to 225 and holding, pushing the prowler 4-6 times a week…trying!
minutes ago:
bench press 135x20, 185x6, 205x3, 225x2, 195x6 all reps paused, moderate grip.
dips 3x10xbw then bench dips x 35
chins 5x10xbw
prowler 6 trips
deadlifts started out well, hit 150kgx10 and 190kgx5 no belt, put belt on, put 230kg on, felt like an empty bar. on old guy (ex competitive Olympic Lifter) was watching me and he said “that looked like you were getting up in the morning”! so i really felt good about hitting 270kg plus today. i loaded the bar to 250kg for my next step up, exploded of the floor and 2/3 the way up felt something bad in my left low back. i bailed on the weight, so luckily i think i avoided serious injury.
heavy pulling out of the question, so i went to Power cleans, 5x5x80kg, 3x3x100kg, then muscle cleans, 3x5x80kg
squats 5x10x100kg
went home to the garage, and did 6 sprints with the prowler, then 3x10 glute ham raises.
wed- another bad low body day i think all the prowling may be hurting my lifting, but i have weight loss goals and conditioning goals that are the priority right now…so i will keep on keeping on.
squats, NO WAY. left low back and right quad injury still there…so i did powercleans first
Power cleans- 2x1x110kg 3x3x100kg, 2x5x90kg
front squat(do not ask me why i could not even warm up with 60kg with back squats without pain, but front squats did not bother my back at all and my left quad just a little bit) 10x3x100kg
i did lots of low rep sets, as i have not front squatted in a long time and i was having trouble keeping the bar on my shoulders. i wanted volume but could not do high reps, so 10x3 with short(1 min) rest periods.
prowler 4 trips with 300lbs ugh.
bodywieht this morning 219.4!!! broke 220, 1 week before my goal!
