All the sets “felt” heavy; the band kicked my & my Triceps’ ass!

Boring deload this week. Still a little tore up, shoulder whining after the pullovers. Light weight and lots of reps. Art it’s coming back. If you are doing 460X2, 515 will be no problem. Jimmy T had a slight concussion and was laying low for the weekend, bumped his cranium at work. Been watching lots of DL video trying to get it. It fucking haunghts me. So what I’ll still try and pick it up. See ya all.

today, back and legs felt good, so i pulled again today.

oh dont get me started. i will go on like a senior citizen listing all his medical ailments… haha.

back was tweaked, butmuch better now.

elbow is never good, since surgery in 2007, on a good day my left triceps is about 25% of my right, on a bad day, i cannot do any elbow extension against resistance at all.

what is bugging me now is i have torn meniscus in my left knee, that i am not prepared to get surgerized at this time, so i am just dealing. and i have a nagging injury to both my lat insertions to my upper arms. that is i have a pain/tearing feeling on heavy deadlifts and any sort of direct lat work(pulling) that feels like something is about to rip off on the inside of my upper arms. bizarre, i know.

he is almost 100% it is a lateral tear and lots of rough edges that need to be smoothed out.

I guess it’s your call as to what and/or when the next step(s) are. With the scope, your down time shouldn’t be that bad…in fact you may just have to wait for the sutures to come out and then be back at it, with modification, of course! Your upper body workouts shouldn’t really suffer much at all. By the way, I liked the back-to-back DL workouts…how did the second workout feel? How did you feel after both were done? Would you do this again, and why/whynot???

Wanted to get in a good squat workout as I haven’t squatted in over a week…I jinxed myself, once again!!!

Squat
45x8x2; 135x5; 185x3; 225x1; Looking for sets of 3’s - 275x1; 280x1; 285x1; 290x1; 295x1; 300x1; 305x1; 310x1; 315x1…My low back glutes were hurting real bad with shooting pain down my hamstrings before during and after the actual squat. Today, the walkouts were ok, but my R foot was completely numb by workouts’ end, as well as my last 2 fingers of my R hand. At first not only was I in pain, but the weight felt heavy on my back; after the 3rd single the weight felt light on my back for the remaining singles. Just a shitty friggin’ workout!!!

as toyou question, well, i just went on feel. my elbow felt really really bad, and my hips and low back felt good, so why would i do an upper body press day when i was not recovered, and why not do a deadlift day if i did feel recovered?

yester day…

dadlift 230kg x 5 with belt. i wanted 10 or more, back and hips said yes…my lat insertions to my left upper arm said no. this nagging injury is NOT getting better, it is getting WORSE. it is starting to affect me outside of the gym, doing every day things, even something as trivial as pulling myself up into my truck.

shrugs 150kgx15 again, i wanted 20 or more, but the injury noted above would not let me.

one leg squats, 50 reps each leg.

If it’s not one thing it’s another with us, huh? I can so empathize with what you go through on a daily basis! I hope you can find a happy medium between training around your injuries and letting them have a chance at healing, if that’s possible. I can only imagine the thoughts that must cross your mind while dealing with this shit! I haven’t used a belt in training or competition for the DL in over 8 years. If I get it tight enough to do some good, I can’t breathe in the bottom and sometimes balnk out at the top, so I figure it does nothing to wear it loose so I don’t wear at all…do you think I should, and if so, what are your reasons???

Squat with 2 Blue Bands(+120 @ Lockout)

took off bands 300x3x5

I was not explosive enough when the bar weight was heavy to overcome the increasing resitance of the bands! I was pushing as hard as I could but didn’t have enough “momentum” or bar speed as the bands really tightened up at the top. When I added the wraps, I got the reps, but barely; there was no way I was going to get 5 sets, so I took the bands off, added a little weight & kept the wraps…the 300x3x5 weren’t “easy” but they weren’t impossible either. I took 3 mins between sets and each succeeding set was harder on all 3 reps. The last set of 3(5th set) I made the 3rd rep by screaming, I think, lol!

This thread always inspires.

what i am trying to do is to hit one “press” movement and one big back movement and a ton of volume for my arms 2x week, and get a decent DL/leg day in the middle. i am unable to press heavy anymore due to my elbow, so i want size for my upper body, and i have always responded well (upper body) in the past to high volume and high frequency. i want to still pull big, and my deadlift has always responded to heavy but infrequent pulling.

we will see how it goes.
