Has anyone had any success with the HST program? I just started and I am having doubts. The first day was incredibly easy and it didn’t feel like I was accomplishing much. Will my patience be rewarded or should I get out now before I waste any more time and effort? Any comments, suggestions, or tips on HST would be greatly appreciated.
There was a thread on the forum last week entitled “Hypertrophy Specific Training”. Do a search and you should find an answer to your question. Also, have you checked out the forum on thinkmuscle. Since that site originated the program, I think that it should be well discussed over there.
Tony, my friend and i spent today figuring out our 15 rep maxs. we will figure out the 10 rep and 5 rep later this week. So, next week we plan on starting this as well. like you, i am thinking how easy it will be. i have been trying to read as much as i can on it and want to give it a shot and see what happens. i am going to be patient though and try it. i would be interested in anyone’s feedback that has tried it though.
I am just finishing my first 8 weeks. It has worked great for me. See the post called “hypertrophy specific training” for my results. This program is very different from most. The first few workouts, are easy for a reason. The 2 weeks of 15 reps set the stage for the rest of the program. If you feel you need to, slow down the reps during the first couple of workouts each cycle. TUT doesn’t seem to affect the results. As you get further into it you will be wishing you were back at doing the easier again. There are a ton of posts on the board on thinkmuscle forum from people who have used HST. I would suggest that you be patient and you should get results. I was very skeptical at first, but have been very suprised with my results so far. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Good luck. Steve
thanks for the feedback steve! i’ll give it a shot.
If you have never done 15 reppers before (and I have not) it can be killer! Even the easy ones can get you if you train with a slow cadance and little rest between sets. The weight feels so light but you still get massive lactic acid built up.
