HST and EDT combination

Seeing as how I’ve had great results from both EDT and HST, I’ve been thinking about this idea for a while. Assuming one follows a full-body HST-style workout (3 days a week), what would you think about splitting up 12 exercises into 6 X-minute (maybe 8 minutes??) intervals (that is, X minutes to do as many reps as you can with two exercises). Theoretically, you would be doing 6 different “supersets,” with each lasting, say, 8 minutes, which would roughly equate to a 50 minute workout. Of course, you try and beat those rep totals in the next workout, etc. Now I realize that most people, while reading this, will be screaming “Overtraining!!!”, and I think this is a valid concern, but I’d like to get some other input too. Your thoughts?

That’s a very interesting idea. Mentally it might be hard to beat your totals three times every week though. It’s one thing to do one chest and bi workout a week and beat it every week, but to beat it 12 times in one month would be a ballbuster. Of course, if you were mentally tough enough to do it, I bet you could really shock your body and get some good results. I don’t see it working for more than a month though.
