This ends up being around 2000 calories. My maintnence is 2400. The reason I’m not cutting more out is because I may be playing football at a small division 3 school next fall and muscle mass loss is not an option. Especially because over spring and summer I will be attempting to build some quality mass over the results I am trying to achieve now.

More info: I lift 3 days a week. Mon, Wed, Fri. I do pretty high volume for my ability and lift heavy. 6-7 lifts a day (most being the big lifts like squats, deads, etc) with set ranges such as 4x4 3x6 5x3 etc. Tue, Thur, Sat I am doing sprint intervals to help aid fat loss.

I started this plan today and plan to continue it up untill christmas. What do you guys think? Am I on the right track to being lean?

Thanksgiving being thursday I am considering it a cheat day. I plan on eating excessive amounts of turkey stuffing and pie. Other than that extreme cheats will be completely cut out. Every few weeks I will allow myself Chipotle on the weekend.

If you are going to be playing football, then why are you trying to lose weight. Being lean isn’t necessarily the best thing for a football player.

Just eat healthy and lift hard.

If you want a suggestion on your diet, put the yogurt earlier in the day (or post workout) due to the carb content. Add Surge or some PWO shake too, recovery will be better, etc.

I still can’t figure out why you would want to lose weight prior to football.

I’m not trying to lose weight. I want to lose pointless fat mass that will only bog me down. If you have any information that can tell me how to burn fat and build quality muscle mass at the same time please let me know.

Being lean is a goal i made for myself before I decided to play again. I know its not the best way to go to be in great football shape, but I don’t want to just abandon my goal after working so long to get to where I am now.
