Time for an update!

02/16 - 87.6 kg = 195.3 lbs
02/17 - 87.3 kg
02/18 - 87.2 kg
02/19 - 87.4 kg
02/20 - didn’t measure
02/21 - 86.6 kg = 193.3 lbs today

So lost another pound this week (last week low was 87.2 kg).

Looks like I’m at 85.something in 2-3 weeks. As planned.

Lowered calories to 2300 kcals this week.

Abs are now fully there. Some love handles left and legs aren’t lean. Chest is now less full but separation is there. Back is my weak point and looks alright with less fat on the lower part. Arms are good.

I’m overall relatively pleased with the results so far. But as always when cutting down, you realize you have less muscle than you thought. So the next gaining phase should deliver some progress on that front.

But these 5% of weightloss could allow me to sleep with a better quality, because I have sleep apneia, use BIPAP. My neck drop 1 inch and I think it is something related to.

And the energy returned. For the first time in six years I could perform seven sets of 10 rep squat (60% of TM…), and after this, five sets of 8 rep lunges and other assistance exercises in less than 70 minute training session (before that I had a psycho-wall that blocked me to perform any 5+ rep exercise due to lack of energy… I suppose…).

What? That is fucking huge progress!

Your neck looks way smaller as does your belly! Your legs are also not as fat, they definitely are way leaner.

Your chest will change later. Keep going. You are inspiring.

First picture is from 2020/11/18 at 91.4 kg (the same weight as when I started dieting, coincidence).
Second picture is from today at 86.5 kg. Lighting is the same as well as mirror. Mirror is suboptimal as it is 2.5 m away from me and I have to zoom, so the pictures are blurred. Legs aren’t possible to simultaneously shoot a picture of. Not having a good mirror to track progress is a downside of the closed gyms.

I think it’s still possible to see the leanness coming in. First you can see how everything is a bit fluffy. Slight ab definition at 17-18% BF, I’m lucky in that regard. Legs and lower back hold most fat. Also first pic some chest fat.

Chest fat is now nearly gone, abs are relatively good, not as lean as I was last cut but they are okay. Arms are bigger than I thought they would be at my current weight.

Congratulations pal!

It is so strange to me to talk with someone who is in so good and healthy conditions, but it is at the same time the huge pattern for both extreme cases: 1) embrace a non-retarded diet plan which you can have adherence; 2 keep caloric deficit because it beats everything.
It is also a blessing to have someone in accountability.

Maybe metabolic wise, but I got other health problems I’m fighting haha. Like every other human being, we all got our shit to carry. It’s good to see what one can achieve when he takes matters in his hands and doesn’t let circumstances dictate his life @brownbear1968. You’ll show us that type 2 diabetes is beatable. It is an issue. Type 2 diabetes could only be beatable before its first moment. After that, it’s only a matter of control and damage contention.

There are some research, surgery cell transplant. But it is under development yet.
The very most powerful tool is to follow some specific diet plan. Ketogenic diets are one of them. And, I confess, it is a powerful one in my case.

The term I prefer to use is ‘to put type 2 diabetes under remission’. And that is my condition now. I don’t spend money with continuous glucose monitors because the readings are always normal. Every other day I test finger strips just to check if things are ok.

But there is one exam which remembers me I am type 2: the 3-hour glucose test exam (the patient has to drink 75 g of liquid glucose and his/her blood glucose is checked every 30 minutes). This damm illness is there, like a sleeping vulcan, just waiting for the very first minute. Thinking about this makes me more focused on my diet, my lifestyle, because it is something that remembers me I must never return to an uncontrolled way of eating.
