How To: Get Rid of Stretch Marks?

Hello,

I have a friend who wants to get rid of stretch marks in some areas, is there an application (like ointment, oil etc.) that can help get rid of them? I have looked at this prduct called Sculpting Gel, but I am not sure if it will help, can anyone help please…

At the moment, not treatment has been shown to work. For existing stretch marks, some studies show that tretinoin can be benificial in reducing the appearence while other studies show that it is ineffective.

In all likelihood, your friend will have to learn to live with it…as most women who have been pregnant end up doing.

I kind of like my stretch marks. I look at them and think “Battle scars.”

why? aren’t they like medals?

I’m proud of the stretch marks I’ve gotten from heavy lifting (arms and chest mainly), but I’m kind of embarassed by the stretch marks from being fat (stomach and hips). Losing a bunch of weight seemed to help me, but they’re still visible.

From what I’ve read, there’s not much you can do about them, so live with em and love em.

If I see new stretch marks that means I am making progress.

The only way to truly get rid of them, especially on the stomach is a tummy tuck…i.e. surgical removal. I have horrible stretch marks from being obese, but now that I’ve lost 70 lbs, they are faded and you hardly notice the ones on my legs and arms. The only ones that are truly noticeable are the ones on my abdomen, and only me, DH and the cats see those!!!

Damn straight.

I’m not sure if this is true or not, but I heard somewhere that putting vitamin E on them is supposed to help make them go away. Is this true?

I’ve heard of several who has done that and it worked, however they didn’t disappear entirely, just got less visible.
