Thats not what I do i dont just do “circus act” shit.
I do seriously endeavor to get better… are you saying I don’t try hard enough?
Look. I don’t do shit to look good. I have no followers or anything on any form of social media. I don’t have nobody to look good for. Nobody gives a shit. I work on my game for real.
FFS man, I’m saying that you should raise your damn release point. If you don’t, you won’t go anywhere. Capisce?
You sure are dense af today.
EDIT: if you are confused because I took a screenshot of your video. I was trying to show you how to improve.
Oh ok. It’s just that phrase that confused me. I’ll definitely fix my release point.
there has literally been no participant in this discussion who has said that. We have said that your efforts are misplaced, which should be super duper clear to you, based on your previous admission that ‘these drills haven’t translated to actually playing basketball like they should have.’
How many times do you have to hear this to understand it? Why do you continue to insist on cherry picking the conversation and twisting everyone’s words to suit your narrative?
You’re right let me stfu and just listen.
Whether you call it “circus act” or not, dribbling with two balls and all the other uncontested jukes and moves are pointless right now.
What I was pointing out was a lot of guys who got very good at the hockey equivalent of ball handling and doing things uncontested on the ice did not go as far as guys who simply spent that time shooting until they were automatic. Hockey and basketball are different but have their similarities. In hockey your velocity and accuracy are important, but so is the quickness and angle of your release. Your ability to pull up and shoot from anywhere accurately or catch and shoot fluidly, etc.
Offensive zone schemes are pretty similar too. Working the perimeter to open up the center and find a cutter are fundamentally the same. Learning to play in those systems, create picks and screens, make reads, etc. is more valuable than slick handles.
One of the things you have to work on is getting into game situations. This conversation has been like a hamster wheel that isn’t going anywhere because you aren’t ever going to improve standing on the court alone or playing pick up. You need to be playing competitive basketball and following the prescribed system of a coaching staff, not just free styling.
But for now while you are alone on the court practicing, you need to be practicing things that can be applied. Improve the release of your shot. Work on catch and shoot. Pivot and shoot. And when you apply the pivot, don’t forget to still keep your release higher. Keep working it until it is second nature. Then make it smoother and more fluid and faster.
Also I don’t know if you’ve thought about it, but putting the ball down and doing a lot agility ladders and high knee karaokes (cariocas) and things might help with the way you say you are tight physically and need to improve your athleticism.

This is a pet peeve… Carry on.
Never could figure it out. I’ve only ever heard it verbally. Never seen it in writing.
Ha, I had a coach in middle school repeatedly tell us “it’s a dance not a song!”.
I need some structure.
I have an agility ladder that I used to use when I was a kid, but I stopped because nothing was happening, or so I thought. I have a lateral resistor, I have multiple basketballs, a rim in my backyard and a gym membership (I put in work at the gym). There’s a 400m outdoor track at my school. With a football field inside it. I have access to a weight room at school and at the gym. Tell me what to do.
I don’t know what they prescribe for b-ball, but this is the type of stuff you should be focused on.
Edit: I believe this can be applied in sneakers as well.
Join a team. Do what the coach says.
I used to fekkin love his GS twitter feed some of those stories are HILARIOUS
I skipped practice because of my religion. Why else?
The coach was bitching, I told my dad and he was gonna tell my mom but I knew theyd try a lawsuit or something. I wanted to learn how to handle my own problems instead of trying to force him to let me play.
The crazy thing is that that motherfucker still let 2 football players, both of which I would destroy… there are multiple players on that team that know I would destroy them I don’t get this shit. But he let those two football players on the team and they didn’t come to a DAMN Saturday practice on the team. I asked everyone why and they were talking about bc of football season. He respects their football more than my religion.
That made me really take it personally and I’m getting hot thinking about it right now.
It’s funny, one of top players at my school once was talking about how he didn’t go to practice because he didn’t feel likel it. That’s another reason why I refuse to stop trying to get better; I’m always willing to go further.
Some of my favorites. I have his book in audio, I listen once a year. Such a great listen.

You familiar with this? This prayer was drilled into my head in AA. I recommend saying it to yourself whenever you get ‘hot’ about someone else’s actions that you have no control over.
You still have yet to internalize the fact that you need to learn to play well with others. I swear to you, it’s the best life skill a person can have. Regardless of what career path you take, it will serve you better than you can imagine. I’m willing to bet that if you didn’t have this giant chip on your shoulder, and had dealt with your coach better personally, you would have had a shot at being on the team.
It’s amazing how many people go through life without learning this skill OR without thinking this skill is important. I’ve watched many many co-workers that were incredibly talented and skilled get passed over time and again because NO one likes them and they are a pain to work with.
And then they get pissy and say “I didn’t know this was a popularity contest!”
Well guess what; now you do. So go win it.
