This really is the heart of it for me. I bust my fucking ass in the gym. It’s mentally healthy for me.
Not eating makes me miserable. I will pay the fat debt down slowly. I ain’t going anywhere, but just like “training smartly” you have to be “mentally smart” as well. If you’re miserable about your training/diet, whether it means being hungry miserable or fat miserable, your “progress” (however you define that for yourself) is going to suffer-- and we all know this is a long game to be in. Gotta do what you gotta do to stay in the game.
C’mon, being a chubby powerlifter is magnitudes better than being a skinnyfat marathon runner
I really don’t understand how there can be any debate on this issue.
Whether you bulk slowly, or do the whole “see food” diet, eventually you will get to a level of bodyfat that is unacceptable. When that happens, you cut.
Different people will have different bodyfat thresholds so they’ll want to cut at different times.
It’s all good! Let’s group hug!

I enjoy being big and powerful. I enjoy that feeling when I know all glycogen stores are full and I am about to go all out in the gym. That is what pushed me through all of those times that “normal” people stay at home…like when hurricanes are about to hit.

I’ve seen how you cook. Anybody’d have fat debt with those skills!

Nothing wrong with eating big (within reason) and lifting big and conditioning your ass off…makes life MOAR FUNZIES.

I don’t think many here would argue against this lol

I’m not smart enough to discuss this, but I can see that this is a good time to open a bag of popcorn.

For the record, I have accrued fat debt in my late 30’s early 40’s — LOL
If I could go back 6 years I would do it very similar. Besides a nasty back blowout that set me back a year, the biggest thing I would do differently is more consistent conditioning. Diet wise, I’d do very similar, although I would have absolutely cut gluten earlier than I did.
I am a firm believer in that while you can’t out train a bad diet, if you’re good 6 out of 7 days a week, then generally DOING MORE rather than eating less keeps things pretty well sorted out (while still adjusting where needed).
That’s just my “Can’t Prove But Believe” entry for the day.

I think your point on conditioning is spot on.
Wendler, Pegg, Paul Carter and others are big fans of hill running and pushing the Prowler while gaining weight.[/quote]
I have been lazy with consistent cardio and conditioning. At the end of training, the StepMill is the easiest thing NOT to get on.
I shall renew my committment.
If anyone followed MarauderMeat before he bowed out of TN, he had taken on some serious conditioning in his training. Good stuff.

Assuming the StepMill is that rotating staircase…that thing is a BITCH.
And yes MM was a big fan of the sled…I prefer running hills, but the snows we have here in winter often don’t allow that.

Oh noez!!!
Let’s keep the thread on track minus the gifs and funny pics.
No offense.
I am guilty of taking it off track also.

Yes. That one.
It is the favored weapon of the Lean Empire.
It beckons me. I both love it and shun it. It’s a complicated relationship.

FUCK THAT THING…no way to take any kind of break.
even on super slow, and then I feel like I am being judged by the hot girl behind me on the elliptical.
I think he used a typical bulk but I cannot be certain.
