How to Best Track Bodyweight?

Well it was suggested what, yesterday?

I’m talking about a gut feeling, do you think those things would benefit you?

I’m out on this one.

Here’s some real talk, and I think anyone in here will likely agree with me, except for you, supercar: you come across as mentally immature. You may not see it in yourself, and you may excuse it as ā€˜well this is just how I come across on the internet’ or whatever, but it is what it is. You just come across as a dude that has some growing up to do. You’ve gotta understand, guys like me, pwnisher, jskrabac have seen SO many dudes come through these forums who come across EXACTLY like you. And we’ve seen their results, we’ve seen how long they stick with things, or how long they spin their wheels just asking questions while making zero progress. We’ve all seen guys who come across exactly like you, over and over again. I can assure you that everyone in here does actually want the best for you, which is why we’re trying to pound some sense into you, lol. But honestly, all I’ve gotten from you, and what most of us have gotten, is push back, and ā€˜well actually’, and fixation on the most unimportant, insignificant details.

Hope you figure things out, but I don’t think contributing more to your threads is my best interests, nor the best interests of the more experienced posters who have tried to help you on your journey. You’ve got what you need, now you just need to spend a few years doing it.

I just went on a diet based on reduced calorie intake. I am TRYING to keep my daily intake to under 1500 calories. I waited 5 days before weighing and have lost 3 pounds so far. I’m 6’ tall and weighed 220lbs to begin with. That’s a B.M.I of app. 29. A recent physical showed that my cholesterol(total and LDL) was a little high. I had recent surgery on my left foot big toe so I can’t exercise much. I too wonder what’s the best way to track one’s weight. It is tempting and hard to keep off the scales. I think it may be counter productive to weighy daily because there are so many variables from dayn to day. Good luck with your program!

That sounds like a really low starting point. How long are you intending to be in a deficit and do you realise being in a deficit will make it take longer to recover from your surgery?

Voxel, just doing this for a sgort time. I’m too HUNGRY to continue it for long. Just experimenting. I’m too damed fat, and I don’t feel good most nof the time because of it, plus I need to get my cholesterol down quick. I dson’t know how long it’s been high. Thanks for the reply.

The most accurate method of monitoring your body weight is to weigh the same time of the day (when you wake up is the best). But what you must do is to record and plot it in a graph. If you understand and can create Control Charts, that is the best to ā€œsignalā€ a statistical change. If not, think of following the stock market, but instead of wanting higher highs and higher lows, you will be wanting lower highs and lower lows. There will be variation day to day, and most times it is ā€œnoise.ā€ As your low weights get lower and your high weight get lower you will notice the graph is trending down.

Thanks RT_Nomad for the advice. I believe I’ll do this starting tomarrow, it makes sense.
