I trained heavy singles the majority of my workouts. I was more concerned w/ the speed of them rather than maxing out on grinders. You can do it as often as your body will allow. Not everyone can do it. However, you will hit a wall and change will be necessary. I’m am going thru that now.
What you’ll find with that training is that you’ll make incredible strength gains, but the body can only take so much. It’s BS on the three week stuff Louie preaches. Don’t follow it. They don’t follow any hard/fast rules. They listen to their bodies as well.
Personally, if you’ve been lifting long enough and have the correct motor skills on the lifts, there shouldn’t be any reason why you can’t get near max the majority of your workouts. However, keep it to singles to keep the volume down. The body recovers faster from singles than multiple reps.
But…you can’t do if forever. So ride her till she bucks ya and then find a different horse.
