Geez, I really wish someone could go and invent some kind of powerful rack for safety in situations like this.

So why did this guy’s leg give?[/quote]

If it was the GTO-inhibition reflex, his left patellar tendon simply wasn’t strong enough to handle the load as it takes longer for tendons to adapt to new loads than it does muscles (this is one reason why it’s good to follow up a cycle of heavy lifting in the 2-4 range with a cycle of higher-rep work in the 6-10 range). The GT-organs detected too much tension in the tendons and sent a strong signal to the spinal cord to “SHUT DOWN ALL THE QUADRICEPS MOTOR UNITS IN THE LEFT LEG!!! SHUT THEM ALL DOWN!!!”

Quadriceps tendon goes from maximal tension to zero tension in less than 1/10 of a second, the lifter falls to the ground, all that weight lands on a bent left leg and tears out several ligaments in his knee (hence the paramedics, stretcher, and knee brace at the end).

Does this make anyone else irritated about those knee wraps? obviously they’re not going to save knees, but just gain some lift from it.

another note:
why are large bald guys always labeled goons?

Maybe he had a small fracture that would have gone unnoticed if he wasn’t squatting heavy.

A better title for the topic would be “How NOT to Spot Someone Squatting 680”.

I understand, y’know, catching 340, heavy weight, just as dangerous for the spotter as for the lifter, happened too fast, blah blah blah; but the guy in the blue shirt didn’t do a damn thing. All but put his hands in his pockets and walked away whistling. If I was Bach I’d be uberpissed.

the only thing missing is nunchuck skills. chicks dig guys with skills.

your comment was one of the gayest things i’ve ever seen. when is the last time you used a back hook kick?

now i know what you need all that “training” for…your secret has been revealed!!

Notice I wrote, “front, side, back, and hook kicks”, which would mean "front kicks, side kicks, back kicks, and hook kicks (also known as roundhouse kicks).

What I did not write was “front, side, and back hook kicks,” which would mean “front kicks, side kicks, and back hook kicks”, which is what you implied.

If you find that reading is a chronic problem, I hear this place is good:

It’s nothing to be embarrassed about. Sometimes people just get left behind.

Best of luck in your education.

way to go urban ninja. so, when was the last time you spinning roundhouse kicked your foe?

i think it went a little more like this.

when was the last time you even used an “elbow strike” on somebody? and which particular “elbow strike” are you refering to? i dont see anybody here calling themselves “throw” or “kick” or “punch”, or anykind of “strike”.

coughcoughterdwafflecoughcough. can you read that?

Listen, I’m trying to help you. If you think that at any point the words “back hook kick” or “spinning roundhouse kick” appeared anywhere other than your own posts then you desperately need to get your reading skills evaluated.

Don’t do it for me, do it for YOU!

Of course, this could just be you projecting your insecurity about having low testosterone onto others:

To get anything on me you have to completely make it up. That’s more of a feminine behaviour, don’t you think? Making shit up and pretending it’s true.

Maybe you should get your estrogen checked.

Indeed.

And it could come in handy for curling also.
