I used to eat 5 eggs a day every day for breakfast. Now I just make a protein shake because it’s cheaper.

Well eating cholesterol doesn’t raise blood cholesterol levels…
I eat 3-9 per day, always 3-4 with breakfast and then the rest just depends on what I have left in the fridge and if I feel I need more fat/protein to meet my needs. I used to eat way more because they are cheap and I think they taste great, and are super quick n’ easy to scramble but I started feeling bad about all the cholesterol and if I eat too many eggs it feels like I shouldn’t eat too many other foods with fat in them for the rest of the day or I’ll be pushing like 50% of my diet from fats.
illgixxer, look at austin_bicep’s post
Side note: (will ask more) of what I’ve heard the only “bad” thing about eggs is the fat & cholesterol content… which isn’t actually bad. The methionine and other stuff are in fact good for the liver (the only organ that I’ve heard eggs are bad for)
When I’m not working I’ll have between 4 and 10 a day.

I have read that, and my blood tests seem to confirm it.

I understood why you said it, and appreciate it.
Even though I “know” that dietary cholesterol is not generally related to blood cholesterol, it’s nice to be given examples of this being true, when nutritional orthodoxy still insists it should be avoided.
Three for breakfast every day, and occasionally three more for a snack later on.
Between 4-6 every day and 8-10 on days when I do heavy C&J/Sq/feel like I need more.
After 2 years of this fasted blood lipids break down as follows: HDL 62, LDL 95, VLDL 11, Trig 99. I also eat about 35-40g fiber and as many veggies as I can.
x3 on austin_bicep’s post.
Typically poor blood panels have more to do with sat. fats, high sugar intake and being sedentary. In some cases if you are a diabetic you may want to watch it. But so long as you hit the gym hard and have a diet that is pretty well thought out you shouldn’t have too much trouble with it.

Fixed. (no offense; just that sat fat ain’t the least bad)
5 a day once or twice a week, so 1-2/day on avg.

Oh, I agree, I typically find that the fat argument comes quickly after the cholesterol one. And most foods that will be consumed by physique athletes probably won’t have too much trans fat (but you’re dead on with that fix).
Another egg question: are any of the eggs you guys are eating special types like omega-3 enriched or the hyperimmune eggs?
I’ve never had either so I can’t speak to their effectiveness but I know some people (I think Dave Tate eats about 4 of those a day) really like those omega-3 eggs.
I hardboil 8 eggs every day in this magnificent device: (best money spent ever)

I have 2 fried eggs in my breakfast sandwich every day as well so I eat 10 eggs every single day.
I eat the hard boiled eggs many different ways. Sometimes all in one sitting. Sometimes throughout the day. Sometimes I just make an egg salad with mustard and mayo. But no matter what, I always make sure I’m getting those eggs down and making a fresh batch at night. They’re a staple.
I think part of the sat. fat argument comes down to the media and even medical sources making no distinction between trans fats and naturally occuring saturated fats, despite the fact that they are very different in terms of structure and function. Also, eggs rule.
6 whole eggs scrambled for breakfast, every morning.
supposedly raw eggs have less bio-available protien.

This issue has been beaten to death on this forum. I think the consensus is that raw egg whites alone = not so good, raw whole eggs = better.
so… im not gonna die of high cholesterol if i eat eggs everyday? i did do some research, but the youtube vids i got on eggs were either non-conclusive(just put diff studies against each other and didnt have any real conclusion) or not very helpful. ): cause i love eggs.
weel, if its true and eggs are the devil, i will die before you, so i’ll give you a heads up
