Hey Darko, if you used to work at Life & Sport I think I know who are…remember your favourite sales rep? If it is you, I’d love to hook up with you and hear how you’re doing.

groove, just lemme know when you’re on your way up here and we’ll work out a plan. It’d sure be nice to see another real live t-man!
porkchop writes: “Look Porkchop, don’t you think if I had of seen your message I would have done something about it? I had no idea there was someone else with the same name. I didn’t realize the system would allow two people with the same name.”
Porkchop replies: I had (and have) no way of knowing whether you have seen a post or not. I have to hope that you revisit threads that you have posted on. The only other option would have been to start an independent thread on the subject, which seems rather like overkill. Apparently, the first and second time I made the request, you did not go back to the threads you had posted on. (I will acknowledge that the subject line of the first request is truncated because I forgot that quotation marks won’t work in the name line.) In any event, absence a response from you, I could not tell whether you were ignoring me or just never came back to look. I can’t judge the intentions of a total stranger based on what he doesn’t do on a website.
porkchop writes: “Now, you seem to be really aggravated about this and afterall this is your ‘third time posting about this.’ So, I tell you what, ask me nicely this time and without the girlish hissy fit and I’ll consider changing it.”
Porkchop replies: Not aggravated, a little annoyed by apparently being ignored. You are new to these forums, and with the exception of a few flamers, everyone here is very welcoming. There are a few matters that the regulars take very seriously, and one of them is their identities.
It is possible to type just about anything it the “Your Name” block of the reply form, so theoretically, anyone can post using anyone else’s screen name. From time to time this has happened. You can see, I am sure, the potential for mischief in that system.
I accept that you innocently decided to use the screen name porkchop and were unaware that it was already in use. I asked on several occasions that you stop. Each request was a polite one, so I take exception to your describing any one of them as a “girlish hissy fit.” If anything qualifies as an adolescent “hissy fit,” it is your statement: “So, I tell you what, ask me nicely this time . . . and I’ll consider changing it.” You were asked nicely already.
I can tell you that there are any number of longtime posters here who would have started a major flame war if you had chosen and continued to use their screen names. That’s not my intention. At the same time, I don’t intend to issue a re-request, just to satisfy your ego.
No one on these forums cares what you call yourself as long as the name is not already in use. Find one that is distinctive and stick with it.
I’m sure you have lots of things you want to discuss here. You may or may not agree with things I write here; in fact, you may be downright embarrassed by things that I say here, but if you keep using the screen name porkchop, people are going to think that you were the one who wrote them. Neither one of us needs that kind of confusion.

Yo!
I'm a whitewater slalom kayaker from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, eh!
Although primarily concerned with the sports performance side of lifting, my realisation that the only people who make it to the Olympics give up every aspect of a normal life to train in the mountains somewhere, 25 hours a week, living off of welfare cheques and pathetically small sponsorships, has led me to think that maybe kayaking should be for fun on weekends and that lifting to look good nekkid and strength for its own sake is just as noble a goal as sport performance.
Hey, Im 32 and from Edmonton. I have been training since I was 16 and have done pretty well in some powerlifting competitions. Glad to see so many fellow Canadians come to the best site on the net.
