Anyone know for sure how long it takes, if you stop eating, before your body kicks in to “starvation mode”??
No idea - depends what you’ve been doing beforehand. If you’ve been stuffing your face, and suddenly you’re not eating anything, I’d say 48 hours. If you’ve been cutting cals, maybe you’re already there.
Anyhoo, your body is pretty damn smart - it tries to keep you alive no matter what you do. Dumb question.
Probably a few hours after your last meal.
Please don’t tell me you’re starving yourself - it’s not the quickest way to lose fat.
You have to eat often and smaller portions to get your metabolism going - food has a thermic effect if used properly.
I once read that when you go about 5 hours without eating, that your body begins slowing the metabolism, preserving fat, and dumping muscle.
I cannot remember where I read this, or by who, but it was one of my first introductions to the idea of eating about every 3 hours, so it was a while ago. (Before Testosterone magazine existed. Actually even before MM2000.)
No I am not starving myself, just curious

Damn
I hope that’s not the case cuz I starve myself every night…
Need to get a mini fridge next to the bed and set my alarm every 3 hours and eat or get an IV tube for the long sleep…
Other wise will not get my REM sleep for GH release…
You know if it’s not one thing it’s another.

Yep, you do. Plenty of info available on this. I always have a couple of tablespoons of non-fat cottage cheese (mostly slow absorbing casein) right before bed and if I wake up for any reason in the night, I keep 4 or 5 BCAAs on the bedstand with a glass of water. Might as well take advantage of the situation. But I don’t set the alarm just to eat.
Amen, brother. We all have to find the balance that works for us. It’s all part of the fun.
