Today I fkd up my back again, so I give myself a FAIL!
I was deadlifting and got distracted by a co-worker who walked up to me while adding weight to the bar for my next set. We chit chat for a lil bit, I give him crap saying it’s a good thing he’s working out at the same time as me because then he’ll see how a real man lifts(he’s actually bigger and leaner than I am, but for some reason weaker, so we always give eachother crap). He laughs cracks back at me, says he’ll talk to me later and walks away.
As he’s walking away I position myself over the bar to begin my lifts, I was a little fatigued from the ramping up, so I explode up with shoulders square, back straight, and head up to show this guy how it’s done. However instead of going up, I flew to the side, bar still in hand I twist to the side, drop the bar and catch myself before I hit the ground.
Apparently I removed the weights from both sides but only added a 45 to the left side, so when I lifted the right side flew up while the left side didn’t move. I was using a fkn sumo grip to boot which didn’t help.
Any one else have fail stories they care to share.
A couple weeks ago I went bullriding for the first time ever. I felt like I did pretty good on the ride but the dismount was a different story. I strained a couple muscles in my lower back when I hit the ground and have not been able to do anything but arms and VERY light shoulders since then. I’m not too terribly broken up about it though, I got to cross bull riding off the bucket list

Maybe you need to find a different dog…
Just trying to help.
Or maybe a tiger?
HEY.
I’d think that if he had the same problem with me, that there was something that I was doing wrong… ya know? I’d be really self-concious. Shit, now i’m psyching myself out…

This happens to me some times, it’s fucking annoying. I’ve found that not drinking alcohol beforehand really helps but sometimes it’s just the girl I think.
As for failing with the weights, I decided to go ahead and deadlift today with a still sore back. My lower back gave out first and I decided to finish out the set with a rounded back. Unfortuantely it’s hurting pretty bad now. I think I might have to take time off and do light work. Dammit.

geez, give the guy a reacharound every now and then, just to let him know you care.

I know, I know. After a while, you just start to forget those “little” things that you used to do… It was easy, then. Plus… I don’t know… I guess I felt more appreciated.
Never ceases to amaze me how you two can dismantle a thread. Here I was, getting all reflective and emo in preparation to bare my soul, only to have the Kerley/imhungry train run this thread over a mere dozen or so posts in…
Today I deadlifted for the first time in a month or two after a serious groin injury. Felt like a million dollars. Form was flawless and the weight was going up easy. I decided to hit 405 when 315 went like gravy. Way up on my third rep I could feel and practically hear the POP in my back. After resting 2 months for my groin I’ve now thrown my back out.
On top of that I recently started serving at a restaurant, connections and back of house experience got me a job that’s rarely given to anyone without previous experience or boobs. But I’m struggling with it. Memory of fine details has never been my strong suit. I’ve got to get my shit together FAST before the summer starts or I’ll be left in the weeds.

Thats pretty sad when your hand no longer does it for you! Have you tried sitting on your arm til your hand goes numb then “have sex” with yourself, it’ll feel like it’s somebody else. It’s GREAT!! Either that or finally get a girl friend!!!
Did that facebook girl end up adding you?? If not thats definitely a fail!

I dislocated my shoulder again a month after the first time. How? By trying to intercept a pass from a girl while playing touch rugby.
Wow. Same thing happened to me but with football. FLAG FUCKING FOOTBALL. It wasn’t even supposed to be my game. I showed up early, a team was short so I said I’d help them out. Went for the pick and the rest is history.
Memento:
Thats an easy one to fix. A lot of people forget minor things when their brain isn’t challenged. Start learning simple shit that you’ve always done, but find a new way to do it. Brush your teeth with your left hand, wash yourself in the shower with your left hand, drive to work a different way everyday, when you’re tying your shoes try switching up which hand you make the bunny ear with (whatever you wanna call it), while driving memorize as many license plates as possible.
Do all this and I bet your memory improves in less than 2 weeks. I started doing that when I was having a hard time remembering some of the formulas I needed to troubleshoot circuit boards at my last job. By constantly stimulating your brain you wont go thru the motions of your day without taking the time to think. You’ll constantly be thinking and improving memory.
