I mix mine with a bit of milk mixed in and some peanut butter. If you mix in a blender, throw in a few ice cubes.
Why would anyone tamper with the perfect macronutrient ratio of Surge by adding skim milk, peanut butter, or other stuff into the formula? Aside from the complaints about taste, it’s counterproductive. Surge should specifically be mixed with water - not milk, grape juice, or Gatorade. Adding fats (like from peanut butter) into the formula just slows down the digestion. A post-workout shake is meant to be digested as fast as possible.
Mixing Surge with milk adds unneccessary carbs. The carb to protein ratio is 2:1 for a reason; scientific literature has cited that such a ratio is optimal for protein transport into muscles via the insulin spike which the sugars in Surge provide. If Biotest wanted to add an extra 12 grams of carbs into the mix, they wouldn’t use some Splenda to help flavor Surge. You guys seriously need to revisit the original articles on Surge.
Surge delivers the precise nutrition the human body needs post-workout and if you’re messing with the formula, you’re not attaining the optimal benefit which this post-workout shake provides.
Peace be with all!
2 Scoops of Surge + 1 1/2 Cup of Gatorade. Tastes great.

Use ICE COLD water and mix well.
Yes, use cold water and mix the hell out of it. The taste will grow on ya.[/quote]
Definitely. Also, if you’re shaking it or using a blender - don’t. It mixes fine with a spoon and you don’t get all that foam which is what tastes so bad.
Just as an aside, I saw one of the contribs post some new data indicating that fat PWO does not slow digestion of other macronutrients. It was in the locker room I beleive.

I explained it to my friend once as angelfood cake with a piece of chalk hidden in the middle. Great, bitter, great
Funny thing… the taste has started to grow on me since my first serving. I stirred it up yesterday rather than shaking it and it did taste better.
Thanks all.
i could drink Surge all day, tastes lovely. i mix it into a bottle 3/4 filled with water and then shake well. it cuases it to bubble up but if you leave it for 5 mins it will go down and you can top it up.
8oz of powerade and 12oz water. Drink it down np… the taste is not important its the results that count.
I’ve been using Surge for a long time and I liked the taste right out of the gate. There are a ton of god-awful-tasting “pre-/post-workout” drinks on the market.
Surge tasted like shit to me the first time I tried it. Now I love it. It’s interesting to see that a lot of people have gone through the same process.
It really is an acquired taste. I couldn’t stand it the first couple times I had it. Now I love the taste.
Same thing as everyone else, almost gagged first time using it then gradually got used to it, now I actually kinda like it.
Another thing, just ordered my second shipment of Surge. Only this one tastes MUCH better then the old one. Very strange possibly the first one was old or something? This one actually tastes like angelfood cake though, the first one was sorta like vanilla-splenda-ish. Curious if anyone else notices a differnce from one tub to the next.
My post will just echo others, but here it is. ![]()
The first time I used Surge was not great. I just didn’t like the taste, but it wasn’t terrible so I stuck with it. After the fifth or sixth time I was getting use to it. Now I love it. I can honestly say there are times when I “crave” it during the day and look forward to when I can drink it.
Also, as others have mentioned, I think it is important to use very cold water.

From what i’ve read about amino acids, the better the quality the worse the taste. I think that may explain the taste of Surge. Its really not that bad after you get used to it.
It’s like crack, after my workouts I can’t wait to down it. Seriously I love it. But I once drank it on a non workout day and it really tasted like shit.
I don’t know what it is but I think it’s the craving of the carbs that I feel after the workouts that makes it so good.
I’m gonna second Gotta train on that one. I dont’ want to name names but yes there are some TERRIBLE pre/post workout drinks out there.
I don’t know if this affects my Surge at all but I find that eiher diet sprite or diet root beer make it taste AMAZING!
Stellars right. Only thing to add to Surge is water and maybe creatine.
If you dont like the taste, chug. I’ve had beer that tastes worst than Surge. Yet some people still love crappy beer.
What are you guys possibly talking about?
I freaking LOVED the taste. Surge tastes delicious. From the first day to the last, I have loved the taste of Surge.
I have never had a problem drinking it. It was in fact better then the post workout drink I made myself. However I can tolerate alot of different food taste. One thing now though is I mix my Power Drive in with the Surge now for post CNS recovery. That make the Surge taste better too so might want to give that a try.
