How do you like your veggies?

Personally, I love a nice combination of stir-fry style vegetables (brocolli, baby corn, carrots, celery, beans etc.) and sweet chilli sauce. I cook the vegies in the microwave with a bit of water, just enough so they are hot and crisp, but not soggy (yuck!!). Then I put them in a bowl and mix in a decent amount of Thai sweet chilli sauce. That stuff is amazing (does anybody know the nutritional info of it? I skip the sauce when dieting, just to be safe). How do you like yours?

I keep it simple…My favorite is 1 lb of frozen broccoli thrown into the steamer and when it’s cooked i’ll throw a couple of slices of fat free cheese in there too. When the broccoli is about halfway done I’ll throw a big chicken breast on the Foreman grill and that makes a meal. On an off note talking about chicken i’ve been buying the skinless breasts with the ribs attached and all…I cut the ribs and everything else off except for the breast but I’ve noticed this chicken tastes a hell of a lot better then the prepackaged boneless/skinless variety. It’s a lot more tender and flavorful…anyone else noticed this?

I likes my veggies like I likes my women: Raw and fresh.

I don’t like veggies, I’m a carnivore…nah, I don’t eat them nearly enough as I should, but when I do, I like them in stir-fry with some chicken.

My favorite is broccoli but I really like string beans, too (fresh or frozen… not canned… ugh!). I like to saute them in a pan with some olive oil, but if I don’t have time to do that I’ll just nuke them for 5 minutes and then toss with olive oil instead. Try olive oil and oregano on your veggies, it’s great.

Personally, unless the veggies are raw (or corn), I prefer them on someone else’s plate.

I liek my veggies in my eggs in the morn…another favorite recipe of mine is green beans topped with shredded parmesean cheese and spray butter.MMM MM good…also if not worried about the glycemic index as much or bulking another good one is throw a bag of baby carrots in a pot of boiling water with some chopped onions…it really has good flavor. I’ve seen this done with some brown sugar too , but I opt to leave the sugar out…try that green bean recipe tho…Mike
