How Do You Know When She is the One?

when she said she’d love me even when I cut my penis off

I met my wife at a friends party. She was sixteen and I was eighteen. Her best friend and my best friend thought we would like each other. It was her birthday in a few days so they thought it would be a nice ice breaker for us to talk.

Our first conversation went like this:

Me: Hi.

Her: Hi.

Me: Want a birthday kiss?

Her: Sure!

Clawed at each other the rest of the night lol. Agreed to meet the next night at another mutual friends house but I couldn’t stay long so we agreed to talk later in the week. On the walk home I turned to a buddie of mine and said “dude I’m fucked now, she’s perfect for me!”

That was in 1983,been married since. We’re so compatible it’s scary.

In answer to the OP’s question I don’t but it sure feels like it. [/quote]

This is like the perfect love story.

Wish it’ll happen to me someday…

hahah, my girl is awesome!

Thinking there’s only one woman for you is like thinking squats are the only exercise you should do.

Why pigeonhole yourself like that?

I fucking love squats - I could marry them.

But I also want to marry a lot of other exercises.

Just a metaphor for women.

Love is still a mystery… you have a lot of different takes on it. Mine is a little different than most. I doubt anyone would agree with it, but I don’t care.

I have heard it said over and over that True Love is a myth that comes from religion. I have found that to be entirely untrue.

It is very real, but it seems elusive because not everyone is able to achieve it.
It’s a very situation-specific experience that requires certain circumstances for it to happen. Like for instance you have to learn how to be healthy measures of both selfish and unselfish, and that’s nearly impossible for a lot of folks. And then there needs to be some emotional maturity. Again most people these days don’t even know what that is.

So how do you know if it’s THE one? Hard to say, but IMO there’s just no formula for love. It really could be a lot of different people. Like some say opposites attract… and then others say that it’s best to find someone that’s the same as you. I think all of that is crap.

And then there’s the matter of luck… there’s a major random luck thing involved. Like when i hear people talk abut meeting their “soul mate” or whatever, the circumstances are frequently just a bizarre matter of happenstance that just happens to involve proximity. Like you have to be proximal to the lady to get to know her. And you’ll never know if she’s Ms. Right unless you get to know her extremely well. That’s just my take…

Yep. Guys who think that she is “the only one” are setting themselves up for a world of hurt. When a woman knows that she is your one and only her attraction for you goes way down. Women want to know that you COULD get other girls, but that you don’t because she is special. I’ve been married 25 years and I’ve seen it over and over again with my friends. Guy marries girl. puts her on pedestal. girls gets sick of being “the one”. Leaves guy.
