I had bloods for TRT. Total T-1500, Free T4 1.05
Estradiol 67. There’s no LH or anything else.
The reference range shown on this is 0-52, so 15 points high.
Can I reduce this? How?
Also, total T at 1500, this shows as top range being 890. Now last time total was closer to 1200 and the Dr let me stay at that dose. I’m thinking he’ll want to reduce from 200mg Depo-T weekly but frankly I feel really damn good and prefer nothing change with the T injections.
I have no idea though bc total t is high while free-t is a desirable level according to their test ranges.
So the estradiol lowering is one. I think if my dose is too high that’s maybe the reason.
What I’m very unsure of is if my numbers seem crazy here or if reference ranges for these are just too low?
Any comments are really really appreciated because I’ve gotten better from a three decade disability and feel so damn good it causes trepidation to think of changing anything at all I want to always feel this good.
I’m 53 and have the physical energy I did at 25, the mental energy of I dunno , a LOT of it.
I sleep like 3-5 hrs and when I wake I feel it’s the energy of an effin toddler so help me. It’s great but it’s very different than my past thirty years.
I am NOT complaining. I simply wish to figure out the ramifications of these bloods.
You’re overdosing on Testosterone hence your E2 is also high. Let me ask you a question… do you think it’s logical to take too much of a medication that you must then take another medication to control its side effects? No it’s not. Just lower your T dose.
Are you feeling any symtpoms of high e2? Mood swings/irritability, changes in sleep quality, water retention etc.? If not and your other health markers look good, I wouldn’t change a thing.
If you’re really concerned then maybe look into splitting your dose but definitely try to avoid Aromatase Inhibitors as much as you can.
Hi ya all…
Total T was 1500, free t was like high normal, but normal. Estradiol was above normal.
I can provide the actual numbers here, so:
Free T: 24.7
Free tT4: 1.04
Free T-3: 3.0
FSH: 3.4
Estradiol: 67 w/ an upper limit listed as 52
When I started this around 18 most ago the total T was around 700 I think. Free T sucked as well obviously.
I reject to speak to my doctors office tomorrow by the close of business.
Not being the most knowledgeable about this stuff I was trying gather opinions on where these results have me standing and what direction to go.
It’s my novice opinion the numbers are high and my dose needs adjusted down.
I wasn’t entirely sure how maybe taking the estradiol down might impact the desired dose.
Frankly I feel effin great. No mood problems at all. I’ve an abundance of energy no doubt but that’s a great thing IMO.
Based on the info given, do we then now agree the depo-T dose needs decreased?
And I’ll look online but I have to wonder about the dosage increments available. I’m at 200mg weekly now, so 800mg/mo. I wonder if doses are available with 50mg increments that would permit 150mg/week or if the only option is 100 anyone know?
Presently I can’t express just how happy I am with TRT. If the current dose could damage me then of course I want it decreased but if not then I don’t give a crap, ¿qué no?!!
Dr office today indicated that my blood draw was closer to my last injection than desired and seemed to think my numbers And dose are ok. A Dr or CNP will call tomorrow.
I reckon with an eight day half life halfway between injections is the most acueste time to get correct readings?
You seem to have found a good doc who treats you based on symptoms and not blindly looking at numbers on a paper. IMO bloods should be drawn at trough levels so right before your next injection, but can’t hurt to know your peak levels either.
Indeed it seems this Dr is listening to reason regarding dosage , intervals…they’re insistent that blood be drawn at the midpoint between doses.
Because I now know that I reckon I COULD simply be deceitful and manipulate info to get the blood draw at trough level. Maybe I will.
This week I’ve actually skipped the injection simply because I feel a break isn’t a terrible idea. Maybe my body will respond better. We’ll see.
K well I did skip one week and I feel fine EXCEPT I started using hot-rox like an idiot and my already present anxiety worsened terribly.
THAT was my error.
As for T doses, The Dr scaled it back from 200mg/weekly to 100. They also want me to get blood tests again, timed to mid-week off my dosing schedule.
It’s now my opinion that test would be better done at the end of a week instead bc it has an 8 day half life. I feel like the average effect would be better represented that way
My urologist prescribed aromidex today.
The estradiol number last week was three points over normal.
My dose was reduced to 100mg weekly of depo-T , total T is now 850 range
