What a game - Texas Tech is in the Sweet 16 for the first time. They beat the Zags - WooooooHoooooo!!!
Bobby Knight (along with Coach K), is just a damn good Coach…
It seems like those two may not always have the best INDIVIDUAL talent on the floor…but they still find a way to win…
Mufasa
As a Texan, I’m rooting for Tech. However, I would love to see a world class Bobby Knight meltdown.
Bobby Knight is the shit.
There’s not very many folks that are on the fence with him. though. You either love him, or hate him.
Regardless - it’s hard to deny the impact he’s had on the entire Athletic Department at Tech.
How 'bout Vermont? ![]()

I think Vermont, and Bucknell will be the two cinderella teams. Heck they both beat 2 or 3 seeds in the first round.
I think Gonzaga has been overrated for the second straight season.
What more can you say about Vermont and Bucknell?
It’s much different than Football, where the resources of a University can make a BIG difference in winning and losing…
All you need to have is about 7 guys deep with game…and you can win…
(I’m not sure about Vermont, but I think Bucknell has what…about 4,000 in it’s student body…?)
It should be fun to see how far both of them go!
Mufasa
We might as well add UW-Mil to the cinderella list now, too.
Great job sending BC home early. And to think BC was whining about being seeded to low.
Gawd, I love March Madness!!!
Yeah, great game!
Rain:
And what about the NCAA selection committee???
These guys are NOT the BCS! They are really Top Notch people, passionate about the game.
It’s funny…usually on the Bracket Selection Day, there will be some “know-it-all” Sportcaster who will talk to the President or one of the representatives of the committee about some “controversial” pick…
The committee will ALWAYS know their stuff and can justify the choices that a) are not automatic and b) may be controversial.
EVERY YEAR this tournament seems to get better and better!
Mufasa
Yeah Knight & his son Pat are doing a great job! I like that Morrison dude on the other team team too. I wonder how far they’re gonna go. Fun as hell to watch Knights style of basketball. They actually pass the ball around, everybody is in motion. Very nice!

Yeah, my girlfriend’s brother is the Assistent Athletic Trainer, so I’ve been following Vermont all year. Watched them play Northeastern in Boston and was very impressed.
I just talked to him on the phone and apparently UCONN was staring them down as they practiced today. Worry much? ![]()
Go Cats!
Who was the lady that Coach Knight was hugging after the game…he said that she was the “real” coach?
Mufasa
I don’t know who that lady was. Knight spoke about her at his press conference, but I didn’t get to catch all of it. Looked as if her and Knight did a little more than just draw X’s and O’s
We have shirts at IU that say “Bring Back Bobby”… we miss him sorely. Letting him go was the worst decision IU ever made, but it’s ok, with our freshman, i’m calling it now, IU to the sweet 16 final 4 next year.
Another #2 goes down. Wake loses to West Va. 111 - 105.
Tech will play the #7 seed for a trip to the Elite 8.
What a wild round two this has been.

March Madness is great.
I only hope that UWM can play the Illini better than the Badgers did. Go Panthers.

Probably, but they were underrated for so many years. It seems like all through the 90’s they were the cinderella team. The annual underrated, mid-major team. So I have no problem with them getting ranked a little high now.
UConn goes down!! UConn goes down!! Great job by the NC State Wolfpack.
How many #2 seeds have taken an early trip home?
How’s your brackets faring? I was done early. Although, as long as Okla. St. stays healthy, I’ve got a shot at picking the winner.

That was his wife Karen. She knows more about basketball than most Men coaches. She did coach herself for several years.

Got Duke so I still have a chance, but losing Wake and UConn does hurt. Go Badgers–beat Bucknell
