Homeopathic ephedra???

Can someone please explain what homeopathic ephedra is? ECA stacks are banned in Australia, but now I see that health food stores are marketing ECA stacks containing this homeopathic ephedra for weight loss. The (uninformed?) staff tell me it has identical properties but this one is legal. Sounds like a load of hogwash to me.

What is refered to as homeopathic ephedra is really synephrine. But the synephrine generally comes from the ingredient citrus aurantium or bitter orange. I have read some stuff on synephrine but not alot. T-mag doesnt like it very much to a search in both the previous issues and forum sections. I saw a study that said it was less effective than ephedrine. The manufacturers however say that it is superior to ephedrine (hmmmm i wonder why). So i guess it may work but probably not as well as ephedrine. It may however be the best (only) thermogenic legally obtained in australia.

hey matt! Yeah i bought a bottle of that stuff. The Pretorius ECA Stack. Im not sure it has helped me lose heaps of fat though. Its really good for giving you energy but so is plain coffee and cheaper too! I actually now just use the pills to wake me up in the mornings and to keep me going when i go out to clubs and get pissed!! Safer than popping illegal shit!!!

T-mag has said that homeopathic product suck, but here are a few more opinions:

“Unless the laws of chemistry have gone awry, most
homeopathic remedies are too diluted to have any physiological
effect…”
—Consumer Reports (January 1987)

"If the FDA required homeopathic remedies to be proved effective in order to remain on the market, homeopathy would face extinction in the United States." ---Stephen Barrett, M.D.

"How do homeopaths explain this supposed potency of infinitesimal doses, even when the dilution removes all molecules of a drug? They invoke mysterious vibrations, resonance, force fields, or radiation totally unknown to science." --- Martin Gardner

Matt, I have seen the products you are talking about. They do not contain synephrine, but supposedly homeopathically diluted ephedra.
All the studies showing positive fat loss with (real) ephedrine used doses around 20mg Ephedrine/200mg caffeine. The homeopathic product, if it does contain any ephedra, would contain miniscule amounts. I think this kind of marketing is quite fraudulent.Packaging substances that would normally be illegal in Oz and putting out homeopathic formulations with barely detectable amounts of those substances is one way companies can get around legal restrictions and still take advantage of gullible consumers- homeopathic ephedra,DHEA,melatonin, growth hormone etc, etc.

Keep in mind that homeopathy says that an illness is cured by ingesting a small amount of a chemical that elicits a similar effect as the illness when consumed in a larger dosage. Note that this is not the same thing as immunology or vaccines. As an example, if you had a fever, a homeopath might give you a small amount of jalepeno dilluted in water. Where it gets really screwy is that a lot of homeopaths hold that the more dilluted the substance is, the more curative. Thus, you end up paying large sums for essentially just distilled water. It’s insane.

Thanks for the responses guys! Actually, I used to get my MD6 shipped from friends in the US (the first one containing norephedrine which the FDA pulled) so I kind of know what to expect from a thermogenic pill and I never imagined for a moment that this homeopathic stuff would cut it. Clenbuterol is easy enough to get too… my girlfriend just hates me when I get the jitters though!

hey mat, i havent tried the ECA pretorious crap cos i think homeopathic stuff is rubbish but thats just me…im no doc so dont take my word for whether or not homeo stuff is good or not…but anyways…im from australia too…i use ma huang, the stuff works great…u should just buy some …theres a shop in melbourne and in sydney that sells it over the counter…

Mick, Any advice as to which shop in Melbourne sells Ma Huang? (and what product?) I have been wanting a decent thermogenic for ages as Synephrine dosen’t do jack and is just too expensive…
Any advice gladly accepted

Yo Mick, whats this stuff you’re talking about??? and where in Melbourne???

bump

Mick, I am “very interested” in regard to where one obtains Ma Huang in Melbourne. All the thermo’s available in the health food stores are absolute shit. I think you would agree, once you have had ephedrine and other similar products, you can’t go back. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

sorry for takin so long to reply…the shop is on smith street, not too far from langridge street…its called “Happy High Herbs”…dodgy name i know…its a alternative shop that sells kava kava…ephedra sinesis brahmi…gingo…tribulus etc etc…its $10 for a 25gram little container.
www.medicine-garden.com.au is their website.

Is this stuff for real???
How can it sell ephedra when no one else does!

Hey Mick, is there some sort of ‘handshake’ required to obtain this? I didn’t see any Ma Huang on the web site though (although guggelsterones are there which was in the original MD6 :-), is it listed as anything else?

“no handshake…no slippin the hand with some cash under the counter”… theyve been taken to court a few times about selling ephedra…the thing is there only allowed to sell 1 25gram small container to a person at a time and not 2 or 3 or more at one time…im buyin my 3rd bottle this weekend…it lasts me awhile as i only use it now and then …as far as the website goes i only checked it out the day i posted it so i dont know too much about it…yeh…if u do decide to buy some, dont expect to be gettin capsules or tablets like i did…the ephedra is in its herbal form…the only thing i can say bro is to go check out the shop for yourself ask questions etc…if u dont trust it dont buy it :(…

Ma Haung is also called ephedra sinica which IS listed on the website.
