Clothes are clothes, skin colour is skin colour, if you want to label someone a certain way based on a combination of those two things, you’re probably projecting your prejudices. Which, in a snap judgement, actually makes sense: it’s an evolutionary advantage to have an “us and them” mentality and the basics of language are structured around this view point. But when you have a few seconds to think about it, or a few minutes to put those thoughts into words which are then put in a public forum, and you realise that your tribe probably isn’t competing for resources with their tribe, and that these prejudices have no worth in today’s world and are a hangover from a more primal age and have caused an awful lot of suffering that continues to this day, you might step back and remember that all you actually know about the person is what they’re wearing and their skin colour.

I don’t understand what your different cultures and races has to do with you being or not being black. If you are visible ‘black’ then you will be identified with the black ethnic group of the United States. The ‘blacks’ in America are an ethnic group onto themselves, and you do indeed belong to that group, no?

I don’t understand what you’re even trying to say here. If you appear black, you probably are black, and seeing as you do belong to the , ‘American Black,’ ethnic group, why would it be wrong to assume that you belong it as such? I called Blacks, ‘Blacks,’ in English or Spanish. The African American thing is a social constructed misnomer, and some kind of neo-liberal invention created in the 60 and 70s to link Blacks to a continent as if being the Black American ethnic group weren’t good enough or something.
