I have a nice setup for lifting at home, but one thing that’s doing a bit of damage to my house are the deadlifts.
There’s a huge depression in my carpet (and possibly concrete subfloor) where I usually stand while deadlifting.
Anyone have any ideas on how to buffer the barbell without raising it up too much? I don’t want to lift from plates, and I don’t have enough room for a platform.
Go to your local farm store (Orchelan’s around here) and buy some horse stable/trailor mats. They’re usually 4’X 6’ and a 1/2-3/4" thick. I’d get enough for at least one layer if not two. I think they’re $30-$40 apiece.

Great reply. And look at IRONMIND.com and look for the plans to build a platform with those and plywood. It’s in article form (free).
