I have a family holiday planned at the beggining of June and plan to have the week off from the gym to receover as will be walking for 8 hours a day for 3 days during the holiday (dont ask its something my family want to do not my total idea of holiday or relaxing LOL). Plus thought it would be nice just to have a little time off from the gym.
now this is the first time i will be laying off the gym, so not quite sure what i should do about my diet. just wanted to realy get your advice on should i just blow it out for the week and eat what i like or try to stick to it the best i can. I will be taking all my whey, ceasin and creatine with me so i will take that as usual its just the other meals im not to sure about.
When I’ve been in situations where I may not be training, and eating more of a ‘normal’ american diet, I usually bring some protein bars and a shaker with me. My main goal, is to keep up some sort of eating cadence, never going too long without nutrients. Also, ensuring that each feeding has at least some source of quality protein. As this isn’t always necessary, the supps are always my backup.
When Cat n I went on a Cruise to Bermuda last summer, I had my staples with me:
-MAG-10 which I religiously carried about in a water bottle as we wandered around the island each day
-Metabolic Drive and a shaker for pre-bed, and between meal feedings
-Flameout and Curcumin because your joints don’t get a vacation from years of wear and tear
I’m off on me hols in two weeks as well! Its feels a long time coming i can tell ya!
I normally take a box of protein powder sachets in my case for when i cant get enough protein (normally at breakfast and before bed). Also a load of protein bars for the flight and when travelling about. Never had a problem taking home made brownies through customs but will include a few store bought bars incase mine are taken.
Normally supplement my supplements with plenty of booze, and what ever food i fancy as, well, i am on holiday! Its not like you’re going to dissolve if you have a week off. Just try and get in you body weight in grams of protein a day. Getting enough calories shouldn’t be a problem on holiday!

I know what my family are like so probably going to be having indian food or maybe pub food (Ie burger chips steaks and chips) will try to stick to what best for me but i dont know if i will be able to do that all the time.
LOL ESX unfortunatly i dont drink but will remmeber this when im away. its only 5 days in wales walking up the mountins so not exactly two weeks in the bahamas, my big two week sunny holiday wont be till October sometime. I was thinking of making homemade ones, i have never tried to make my own before, if i get time before i go might give it a try.
now i just need to find a good receipe and go shopping for ingredints. My girlfriend is not going to be happy that my food bills going up a little bit more LOL.
