I have been injesting mega doeses of Vitamin C over the past couple of days. While I see it is effective it has given me a mega case of the shits too. Is there any way to injest alot of C without getting the runs? I do not have access to IV C, so that is not an option for me.
you have to build up a bit slower. if you go from nothing to 4-6 gms per day all at once, that’s what happens.
Start at 500 mg 4x per day, breakfast, lunch, dinner, bedtime.
after 4-5 days, go to 1gm per serving.
work up from there if you feel you need more. how much more than 1-2 gms per serving make any sense?
I started taking mega doses of vitamin C also. I got a lot of information from this website:
On the side of the page are articles and there are a few on Vitamin C.
You also might try a timed-release vit C rather than something that disolves quickly.
how much is a mega dose?
try ester c, i dont know if its as good as the other kinds, but if it is then use it. it is much easier on the stomach. no runs
Does anyone know what the effect of high vitamin c doses is on blood ph. I am refering to Berardi’s concerns that our diets are already too acidic.

I checked into the link above. The “doctor” recommends taking the following amounts of vitamin C:
“mg. of Vitamin “C” Body Weight Number of Doses Amt. per dose
35,000 mg. 220 lbs. 17-18 2,000 mg
18,000 mg 110 lbs. 18 1,000 mg.
9,000 mg. 55 lbs. 18 500 mg.
4,500 mg. 28 lbs. 9 500 mg.
2,300 mg. 14-15 lbs. 9 250 mg.
1,200 mg. 7-8 lbs. 9 130 - 135 mg.”
In my opinion he his way, way out of line with his dosages. 18 doeses of vitamin C per day at 2,000 mg each for a man weighing 220lbs? That is ridiculous!
Thanks for the responses. I think gradually working it up is the way to go.
how many mg’s = a gram? Lol is it 1000 mg?

huh???
You get a gold star because you got the answer right. I guess I’m going to have to make that a silver star.
1000mg = 1g
In regards to the acidity of the C, there are a number of options other then ascorbic acid, some of which aren’t acidic.
Off the top of my head, one known as C-salts was a good choice, as were calcium/magnesium/potassium citrates.
Poliquin recomends 6 times that
Six times what?
And are you talking about his intravenous experiment, or are you talking oral vitamin C?
