High Calorie, Healthy Meals for Cheap?

For taste, me too. Especially bread, i could eat that by the loaf. It’s my only real weakness carb-wise.

I don’t enjoy eating fats at all.

Ah.

That is simple. I cannot say I agree with that definition of “healthy”, but it explains the disconnect.

I am a little confused by this statement. Why does cake in America not have eggs, flour and recognizable ingredients?

Most other countries don’t have gunpowder-based sprinkles like we do, for starters. Then there’s the blood of our enemies we use in the food coloring. Another little-known fact is the frosting you buy at the store was invented by NASA in the 1950’s and is, in fact, entirely petroleum-based. American cakes are also the only cakes you’ll find in the world that can be effectively used as a weapon in combat.

I see. Just kinda sad I have been doing it wrong all these years.

I’m sure some of it does. The stuff you post in food porn section, for example. But the cheap, mass produced shit you find in chain stores probably doesn’t because making cakes with flour and eggs is expensive and leads to a product that doesn’t survive the series of distribution centres it has to go through to make it onto shelves. The one i’m holding in my hand, for example, doesn’t list eggs as an ingredient, only as a potential allergen. It does, however, list as ingredients several emulsifiers, preservatives, iron and calcium carbonate (otherwise known as limestone).

I don’t buy many “store bought” cakes but will have to check the ingredients. I can’t handle the frosting, just grease, sugar and that weird artificial taste from the food color.

I’m pretty much the same

You forgot to mention that eagle blood is legally the only allowed red food coloring, and under US goverment rules, hand grenades technically count as eggs.

If you’re planning to make an American-style cake, make sure your petroleum frosting is not Texas crude - West Virginia drills make a much better product.

Which type of coal produces the purest cocoa flavour?

Strip mined is easy to get, but I’m not sure I want all that residue. Some like their’s “explosive processed” though.

Anthracite. Quality is quality, no getting around that.

Also why Hershey chose PA. Quick, cheap access to resources.
