Coach, I’m 22 years old and have been training with weights since I was 15. As 17 or so I discovered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and have been training both with weights and BJJ since then.
As far as weight training, I’ve done it all, from traditional bodybuilding splits to powerlifting style to bodyweight only to high frequency training and everything in between.
For quite a while now I got more serious into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and started training twice a day Monday to Friday and once on Saturdays, together with Crossfit training 4 times a week.
I’m also a college student, wich gets me pretty busy.
My diet is just the typical diet of a college student, with not nearly as much protein and other nutrients as I should me taking, and eating at most 2 times a day.
So, I discovered my blood pressure was high, but had no symptoms, went to a doctor and he asked for complete heart exams and blood tests. Everything was absolute normal, except for kidney creatinine, wich as not outside the normal limits but in higher end.
The doctor told me I was ok and some blood pressure fluctuations were normal, and my blood pressure map (24 hours checking blood pressure every 15 minutes) was always between 11/7 to 14/9.
Now, this was about 4 months ago, and since then I started training with even more, and have been checking my blood pressure again, and it shows no less than 14/9, and almost always the systolic stays between 15/16, sometimes higher.
I scheduled another doctor to next week, but since then I have been wondered, couldn’t this be chronic overtraining? Since I have no other reasons to be Hypertensive, my bodyweight is normal and my BF is about 8/9%.
I also noted that I have some mood fluctuations and a loss of libido.
Thanks for your help.
