HGH: A How-To Guide

My RHR is still highish but has come down to a reasonable 80bpm since lowering the HGH dose. I’m not entirely sure I wasn’t just sick or something as everybody in my house is ill. I didn’t feel sick other than being fatigued but wasn;t sure if the BP/HR was the cause or the symptom.

First, I would not worry about my BP acutely as long as it is <160mmHg systolic (long term is different). Many people walk around with higher blood pressure than this and suffer the consequences only after decades. HBP is called the silent killer for a reason. If one is worried, beta blockers are a good option, caveat: always start low if you don’t know your dose. Too much is not very dangerous but not very pleasant.

Second, I think you did the right thing. You don’t change a lot besides your HGH dose. Lowering this back down first is the first thing I’d have done. If it gets better now, you’re right, could be a lot of things. So you do a reexposition n=1 experiment in a week or so and start increasing the dose again, this time slowly, every two days one half IU more is what I would do. If BP increases with it or in a lagging behind manner, then it is very likely the GH. Only change one variable at a time, preferentially.

@lordgains Well… dropping HGH dose didn’t help. I think I’m going to have to end this cycle. My RHR has jumped 50% from pre cycle and my BP isn’t good. Ironically both jumps in RHR coincide with my first Moderna vax in early-mid April and my second vax in late May. I’ve never had these issues but my typical cycle is 300test/300 mast. This time I was running 400test/600 primo with 4iu HGH. I only ran the primo that high because I heard its mild and thats a minimum effective dose. I’m going to give it a couple weeks off everything but TRT level test before seeing a doctor. I’m concerned.

how did it work out for you?

@throwawayfitness if you are asking me about my experiments with HGH it was a failure. Two different sources sold me bad GH. The first one gave me bad lumps under the skin at the injection site that took almost a week to dissipate Iron_Yuppie suggested it was dirty and I should stop using it. My second source had no site injection issues and I ran it for 3 weeks and had my IGF-1 tested and it was low. When I take the peptide 1295 w DAC I can get my IGF-1 up to the 140’s

bummer. thank for the reply.

you going to give it another go down the road?

No I am not seeing any up side to it. A couple guys here have also posted issues with known good GH (they have blood tests to prove it).

I’m going back to T only blasts. AAS’s just blow the shit out of my lipids.
I am thinking now a higher T blast would give me better gains with less damage to my internal organs.

It was a fun years and a half experimenting with anavar then GH then winny. But I’m over the excitement. Being a retired engineer I love data and I blood test a lot. My more recent blood tests scared me.

Me to Brother. Everything else just seems like big downsides. Maybe part of this is I can handle at least pretty high Test (650 mg/wk wasn’t an issue with no AI).

one more question, please. A while back in a blood donation thread I could swear you said you wouldn’t again. Was this true and why? Thank you.

@throwawayfitness I had to quit donating blood.
Twice I have crashed my ferritin.
So when my HCT goes above 52% I have to cut my T dose to between 60-80/w for about 6 months as well as take an iron supplement with VitC and not donate blood.
Does this answer your question?

Yes thank you

Overall, this is an amazing guide for beginners. The only issue that I found with it was your suggestion on how people source it. It’s easy to forage lab tests of a product, if someone’s looking for a reliable source, the source should have a community centered around it (e.g, a subreddit dedicated to it or have reputable sponsors)

How many IU’s did you start with when you initially started taking HGH and did you utilize a dosage escalation protocol?

Thanks,

Highly recommend you ramp up your dosage for anything over replacement levels of 1-2iu. Starting at even 4+ iu can cause water retention/swelling, joint pain, RHR increase to be worse

Initially I did not which resulted in a ton of water weight which i rode out. looking back i should have ramped up my dose. FWIW, i’m still using HGH and running about 2.5 iu daily at 60 years old

What should a starting dose look like? Example 2 iu’s for month 1 or 2/3 and 4/5 iu’s for 6 months or more. Or start at 4 iu’s? The objective is to maximize the therapeutic effects/get past a plateau potentially while minimizing the negative side effects, but my health is more important than getting past a peak. So that being said I am looking for a happy medium. I am in my early 40’s and I have been lifting religiously for over 20 years and have been using gear safely for about 12 years now.

That’s good to hear! So you ran 2+ iu’s indefinitely and eventually the water retention subsided? A quote from your how to guide "HGH is a slow game meaning that you will need to run AT LEAST 90 days to see significant changes. Within that 90 days you may see a lot of water gain which you will mistake for mass, not so brothers. After the water goes away, then the fat loss begins. Personally, I did not see fat loss until the second month.” So you where running 2 iu’s at the time of the post? I have read a lot of your posts and having someone share their honest experience is much appreciated.

No, my first time, I was running 5 iu daily. I’ve always been a “more is better” kind of guy. Getting better about that but not when I started the GH.

If I were you, I would run about 2 to 3 iu daily or taking weekends off. 5 iu is pretty expensive to run year round and I feel I get good recovery with my current dose.
