Herschel Walker is Still JACKED at 47

I’m so glad he beat the hell out of that guy. I hate MMA/UFC guys with their douchey affliction shirts

What about Stacy’s Mom?

And OP, this thread is WAY better than your thread about Greg Oden…

That’s only because AQ couldn’t tell how big Herschel’s dick was…

Just watched the replay of the fight and he looks incredible for a man of ANY age…let alone someone close to their 50’s. There are many 20 somethings (myself included) that dream of being in this kind of condition. He’s obviously driven and incredibly disciplined. As per the question of weight lifting, there I’m sure there are enough people on here who train/know someone who trains MMA style and can attest to the intensity these workouts reach. I have a couple friends who train and most of the time they are just too fatigued to even think about weight lifting after a session. They get most of their strenght training through wrestling/sparing with other fighters, weight bags and calinstetics(?).

Oh you mean the company that spends millions of dollars on these guys to wear their appearal, yeah fuck those guys for wanting money for wearing a shirt. Such douche bags!

It does have to do with genetics and which workouts are best for you. I worked with a guy at a bar who was in his upper 30’s who lived on red bull and cigarettes. Ive never seen anyone toss a full keg like him. he was just a natural monster.
Genetics own all. I know a kid who at the age of 16 was able to play for his towns mens rugby team, he was simply stronger than pretty much everyone in that town. He went to the gym once a week or less as well. He might even make the england national team at some point…

You can’t buy them and you can’t work on them, but simply by spending time in gyms you already put yourself in the extream minority of the population. You might never get a bodybuilder physique even if you train like one eat like one and drug like one, but you’ll still look way better than everyone you know from outside the gym with your shirt off and be massively stronger.

he looked real in shape. the guy he fought looked like shit tho. So did Wes Sims for that matter…real sloppy.

I had a magazine in the 7th grade that I think was just called ‘SPORT’ that had a Herschel Walker interview. In it he claimed to have never lifted weights, only did an absurd number of push-ups a day [I think well over a 1,000] and that he only ate once a day 'cause “You can’t rely on no proteins and vitamins to do your work for you”. The quote’s not exact but it’s pretty damn close. I have no idea if he’s full of shit or not but remember thinking how jacked he looked back then.

just for visual reference.

And yeah he fought a scrub…but it’s great to see a true athlete that challenges himself…especially at an age when a lot of former NFL players can barely get out of bed and need hoverounds(especially running backs).

His physique in this pic looks like Apollo Creed(Carl Weathers). His shins look like he has been deadlifting.

I remember that too. Shows our age?
I’m 28 Push!

In this pic his physique looks damn near identical to the “neanderthal” in the old Berardi articles. What a beast.

EDIT: Actually, after comparing the pictures Walker looks like more of a specimen than the neanderthal. He looks like the black Johnny Bravo with those legs and that torso.

After seeing that picture i think he deserves a more credit then that. not that he is hyooge but he is definitly more muscular then most people who lift

Saying he looks like “he lifts a little” is doing him a disservice. He’s more jacked and has better proportions [aside from his surprisingly comparably thin thighs] than 98% of the people that post here. He’s a fucking beast.

98% of the people who post here aren’t serious either and wouldn’t look anything like that after 20 years of lifting…so again, the response was as it concerns people who take this seriously enough to actually expect very significant physique change over time…NOT the average “overtraining hardgainer” who fills this forum much like the New year’s crowd.

I was pretty sure I made that distinction very clear earlier but clearly underlined and bold faced words are needed to get the real point across.

Sorry but I’m calling bullshit on never having touched a weight or resistance training of any form in his life. He wouldn’t be the first athlete to make bullshit claims to make himself look like superman.

He might have great genetics, but genetics don’t get a guy that developed on “pushups and eating once a day”

…and for the record, my whole comment was this:
If I saw someone just like him in the gym, he would appear to me like someone who spent more time doing more aerobic activity than weight lifting, ie. clearly in shape but not carrying enough muscle for me to think he puts up any huge numbers at all in the weight room. So, yes, he would look like he lifted weights…a little.
but apparently I have to pretend like he looks like Arnold in order for people to stop whining as if he truly looks like he spends even half the time some of us do in the weight room.

He doesn’t. That is what you look like with great genetics and a very active lifestyle. Surprise!

Imagine if he did lift weights…FAWK!!

I’m not saying he look better than 98% of the half assers here, I’m saying he looks better than 98% of EVERYONE. His arms and legs aren’t quite in line with his torso and he’s obviously not winning any bodybuilding shows, but he’s jacked, athletic and lean. Saying someone who’s his build looks like he spends more time doing aerobics than lifting is insane. If he posted on this site he’d have one of the 5 best physiques, no questions.
