Good premiere… but WTF happened to Niki and Micah?

One second she’s in a fire, then it’s the governor’s office…

I think that character who looks like niki, legitimately is not niki. I’m saying it is her twin sister. After all she showed her power which was not the same as niki’s. This allows them to kill off a character at the end of the season for dramatic effect, while not breaching a contract with the actress.

You mean Jessica?[/quote]

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I don’t think she actually died as a child, especially with Linderman around.

What did everyone think of the season premier?

I thought it was pretty awesome but left more questions than answers (as usual).

SPOILERS

I grabbed the bullet points from the Heroes Wiki and below them are my comments.

  • The man who shot Nathan was found out.
    One word. Badass

  • Nathan is visited in the hospital by a familiar face.
Linderman is back, but how? Is he speaking to Nathan via some sort of telepathy, he is a figment of Nathan’s imagination or he is there and being masked by some other power. I’m thought Nathan was healed by the remanants of Adams blood in his system, so I’m thinking Linderman is all in his mind.

  • Hiro recieves a message from his father and meets a “Speedster”
Future Ando looks to have some type of power, I thought the best part of the whole Hiro part in this episode was his dad yelling at him telling him NOT to open the safe.

  • Claire is visited by Sylar.
WTF!!! Stupid cheerleader, one of my least favorite characters by far! After she hit Sylar with the trophy I was practically screaming at the TV “Bash his head in!!!” Then when she finally does get a good swipe at him with the knife she stabs and runs!

  • Matt is sent against his will to a distant location.
No idea where they are going with this part.

  • Mohinder learns something amazing because of Maya.
    What an idiot.

Something they left out:
-Level 5 - So it looks like Mr. Bennett ends up working for the company again, with a slightly brainwashed Sylar as his partner? Mrs. Petrelli as his boss, trying to capture these Level 5 guys.

Sylar is Peter/Nathan’s brother! I wasn’t expecting that.

Spoilers, etc

When Mohinder injected himself, I had this deep voice in my head going UPGRADE!

I wonder if they’ve killed Niki and will work Micah out since they weren’t that popular, and will try a new angle with who I am assuming is Jessica.

Also, what is Mohinder turning into? He seems to have a bit more testosterone, staring at Maya’s boobs the moment he jumps off the ceiling. And then peeling that crap off his back? He can climb walls like Spiderman, looks like he’s growing scales…

That was straight out of The Fly.

Yeah, after that scene, I was like WTF?

I thought it was a ripoff of The Fly, too.

I’m assuming Micah and his cousin will appear in later episodes. I don’t think they had time in the story last night to bring them back. I’m sure they’ll make an appearance in an slower episode down the line, but I’d be happy if they were just written out of the story completely.

Also, I’m ready to consider Nikki dead yet. Shows like these always seem to bring back characters previously presumed dead.

Other points:

I’m not sure if Nathan was just seeing Linderman, Linderman was actually there, but invisible, or what. That should be interesting.

I’m guessing Ando having powers in the future has to do with both the stolen formula and Mohinder’s discovery.

Did anyone else watch that scene where Mr. Bennet was looking at the files from the Level 5 escapees over and over again in an effort to see all the details of what was on his computer screen? I’m a nerd like that. I wonder how Peter being in the body of one of them is going to play out.

Was a little disappointed with the first two episodes, but we’ll see where they take it. It’s still about 100x better than anything else on tv, so meh.

(Man, Nathan really got screwed on the genetic lottery, eh? He’s got his brother, uber-powered Peter “Neo” Petrelli, and now he’s apparently related to Sylar as well. You’d think he could do a bit better than flight.)

I have to say I felt like they were trying to jam too much in. The writers said they took a lot of heat for last season. People felt it moved too slowly and wasn’t coherent. Everyone was waiting for that moment when they all would come together and start working towards a purpose.

So they said they would make this season move faster and have more going on. I’m hoping they can strike a happy medium.

I think the whole Mohinder plotline sucks ass. His character was never impulsive and has been driven by his ethics and respect for his father all along. Now suddenly he throws caution ot the wind, loses his ethics and is a poon-hound? Add to that the blatant rip-off of The Fly and it spells “We’re out of ideas” for the writers.

I hope Kring manages to get them more coherent as we go. Battlestar Galactica proved that well written Sci Fi can be carried through several exciting seasons without turning into the “monster of the week” show.

So if Sylar can’t kill Claire (as he said), what was the point of the 1st season?

Presumably Sylar didn’t know he could kill Claire?

And I never got the impression that Sylar is related the the Petrelli’s, more like their mother is taking a maternal role with Sylar.

Future Claire is pretty fucking heartless it seems, something to do with her losing her sense of pain?

I wanna see what is up with the African guy that paints the future.

I wanna know what Peter’s new power is while he’s in that guy’s body. The show specifically avoided saying so I presume it’s something powerful.

That’s why I watched that scene over and over again. I wanted to see what Mr. Bennet’s computer said about him.

It said his power was sound manipulation.

Since they didn’t elaborate on that, I’m assuming it’s likely something destructive.

When I looked at the screen, I though it said Spatial Manipulation which would have been cooler then Sound… but oh well.

According to the Assignment tracker used by the Company, Jesse possess the ability of Sound manipulation. It is unknown to what extent his control of this ability actually is, however Noah notes to Claire that she does not want to know what he can do with his ability.

Yeah, isn’t that how it played out in Spiderman 3?
