I think Sylar was the exploding man. Before Hiro altered the timeline, Sylar did kill Claire, and was able to regenerate when Hiro attacked him. Hiro doesn’t yet realize that when he altered the timeline, he just turned Peter into the exploding man instead of Sylar.[/quote]

So clearly the scar that future Hiro was referring to was not made by Sylar trying to take Peter’s brain, but rather it was that fucking rad scar across his face. When do get to see that happen?
And, personally, I prefer Hiro as the goofy bastard he is now. Future Hiro, while he is a badass, is just too damn serious.
And why can the show do such awesome things with Ted and Nathan’s powers, yet Peter and Sylar get a combined 15 seconds of air time? Eventually they are just going to have to give us fanboy’s what we’re waiting for, and the effects better be up to par with the build-up.
I’ve heard they already have over 100 episodes plotted out.
My guess is that peter is the exploding man and Nathan is obviously killed in the explosion.
Sylar then takes his place.
There’s also alot that can happen in the future if sylar survives the fight with Pter and absorbs/takes Hiro’s ability, but it’s not likely he will/did.
Also, I think that the little girl mentioned in the previews(molly walker) probably has leach type powers.
The bomb obviously goes off in the season finale.
This leads me to think that we’ll be seeing many more badass action scenes in future episodes similar to this one.

No offense to your opinion of the episode, but what badass action scenes are you referring too? The one where we caught the tail end of Hiro slicing a guard? Or the flashes of light we are supposed to be satisfied with from a fight between Sylar and Peter.
Honestly, no offense meant, but if Heroes has been a let down in one category it has been that they never follow through on the build up to big fights.

Along those same lines - if the Haitian is working hand in hand with the director of Homeland Security, he was probably in the same room as the President at some point, and right then everyone in the room would have known that the President was really the bomb, and he would have been completely de-powered.
I think that including Parkman and the Haitian in the capacity they did was cool, but opened up too many questions.

I agree with you.
I meant episodes with a similar atmosphere and similar conflicts with action scenes that are more badass.
I guess I just phrased it poorly.

The Haitian only lets Parkman selectively listen in to people.
That’s why parker gets that look right before syler and peter duke it out after the haitian is killed.
So I guess Peter has Candice’s morphing power. Future Hiro doesn’t seem to know that Peter was actually the bomb; Peter must have used Sylar’s appearance to frame him.
And I knew that damn painting was significant! I kept talking about how Sylar repainted that picture of Nathan in the White House, only it didn’t look like Nathan, but no one seemed to think much of it. Unfortunately I didn’t piece it together until Nathan’s conversation with Mohinder.

In String Theory, I thought from what Sylar said about replacing Nathan, it was done sometime after Nathan had already been in office.
My guess is that peter is the exploding man and Nathan is obviously killed in the explosion.

Can’t be.
Sylar flew away from his speech to catch Peter & Hiro. The only way Sylar can take peoples powers is to cut their skull open and take their brain. Ergo, Nathan was murdered by Sylar at some point.
