Its generally conceded by social scientists that backward people do not understand concepts like time, future, imagination. They simply repeat some process that some rare THINKING individual thought up, like a plow. The unique thing about European culture is that they developed those concepts.
Ever read about the Boxer Rebellion? The Chinese would shoot over the heads of the British soldiers, thinking THAT would kill their ghosts. That illustrates perfectly what I mean. The reason western man dominated the world is because they were connected to reality. The rest of the world is slowly coming around, as in China, India, and so forth. Finally…
Now, as soon as the concept of nanny-government dies…
And I assume that the Salem witch trials are grounded in this Western Reality?
Or you know, the printed word, totally a western invention right?
Come on HH, you can’t possibly believe that every non-western culture is a bunch of brain-dead morons? Because if they were then how the hell could the Mayans predict solar eclipses or know that a year was slightly longer than 365 days? Because I am pretty sure creating an accurate calendar quite a few centuries before western society did requires some understanding of the concept of time.
Conceptual future-oriented thinking is primarily a phenomenon of European culture. This means that a higher % of peoples there think conceptually. In most areas of the world, someone who thinks this way is in a minority.
For ex, what would lead the Japanese to attack in 1941? Even they had figured out that they had little chance ( a few had). But, hey, they’ve got bushido!!
The west is clearly superior, though conceptual thinking is rising in China and India. The Middle East is waaaayyyy behind.

Would you consider mathematics conceptual?
If it is then perhaps you would care to tell me where the oldest recorded mathematical documents originate from?
Unless of course mathematics isn’t conceptual,in which case my argument falls apart…
