lol seriously–there just isn’t a worse guy to have quoted with a message like that. Probably should have done a background check.

BTW great stuff in this thread. It’s stuff like this [and surprisingly enough, some of the threads HH has started on careers and school] that make this site more than just a lifting board.
woah woah woah, he was murdered but that doesn’t make the message bad.

consider this quote

Women are nothing but machines for producing children.
Napoleon Bonaparte

not a fan of the quote but a pretty impressive resume.

-_-

He was murdered, largely as a result of him practicing what he preached in that quote–again, background check. It sure does weaken the quote.

I don’t agree with you, but that is the great thing about interpretation.

I also don’t agree with Napoleon’s quote but I bet someone on this site does.

Yeah but why was he murdered is what makes this quote less than credible. The quote is encouraging people not to look at the consequences of things they’ve done in the past. Don’t look back and over analyze, just move the fuk on? Tupac may still be alive today had he taken the time to look back at the shit he was doing and what the consequences of some of the decision he made in the past would be. He made bold and dangerous decisions and never looked back at the damage they caused or even attempted to make peace with those he hurt, end result… He was murdered.

Don’t wanna offend any of the hardcore tupac fans here, but the guy got what he deserved. Great music tho.

just do what this guy says and life is complete

So do you think this applies to everyone? Or do you think the phrase “never look back because tomorrow is done” only applies to some people?

or what about those who spend so much time going over what they did in the past the future goes right on by?

Do you agree with this quote:

Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.

Adolf Hitler

just a different perspective on the words

I don’t think telling people to NEVER look back is a good idea for ANYONE. Now if he said don’t dwell in the past, I can agree, but living life for the moment and not learning from the mistakes in the past sets you up for failure. We must look back at the mistakes we’ve made in the past, realize our faults and evolve into better people. Don’t just leave the peices of your shambled past on the floor and move on, not realizing why or how those peices got there.

Hitler’s quote is completely different then tupac’s quote so not sure the correlation there, but I still disagree with the quote. Let’s look past who hitler was and look at the quote itself. “Those who do not want to fight… do not deserve to live”.
Now it’s hard to analyze any quote out of context, but I can’t imagine any context that I would agree with the quote. He is stating that certain individuals do not have a right to live. How could I agree with a quote like that? Now the quote was vague in describing what “fight” we are talking about, but seeing as how he said “in this world” I think it’s safe to say he is literally talking about fighting and not emotional or spiritual battles. So pacifists don’t deserve to live? Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr., Jesus??

I agree with this.

In regards to your citing pacifists, that doesn’t mean they weren’t fighters.

Thanks for the insight though. I can see what you mean.

Invest early, seriously, I can’t stress this enough. I see people trying to “catch up” for retirement every day to what would have only taken small steps of preparation earlier in their life. AC is right, the power of compounding is where it’s at.

Educate your lazy ass. No one wants to do it- especially when you’re young, and it doesn’t mean going out and getting a damn Ph.D. It’s far from cool to be stupid. Knowledge is power and chicks dig it too. An extra year of some sort of education in your 20’s is going to pay dividends later down the road. If you can, specialize in something.

Following education, read. Stimulates your goddamn mind. More so than badjojo.com

Go to badjojo.com, you’re welcome.

Go see as much of everything out there you can. What do you thinks gonna be a better story, telling your grandkids how you pwnd some 12 yr old at Halo in your cheeto covered nerd dungeon, or the time you climbed machu picchu?

Chick face down on stomach, your thumb in her snatch, press down. Easy peasy.

Put yourself in other peoples shoes. It’ll make life much easier if you think shit over and you’ll be much more apt to realize you’re wrong when you are. Real men understand if they’re wrong. Apologize, correct it and move on.

Diversify. Women, stocks, clothing, cars, jobs, sex positions, apartments, you get the idea.
It’s weird. I’ve been on this site since mid 2004-ish? But never posted so I guess that makes me a '10er…

Make it EVOO. And bring Rachel Ray too.

Leave a book of matches in your bathroom. When you drop deuce, light a match. The sulfur dioxide produced when the match is struck masks the odor (Unless of course, you are like me and are proud of your death stench and want everyone to be able to appreciate it)

-Unless you are a true handy man, get someone who knows how to fix the problem the first time, to fix it the first time!! More often than not you’ll fuck up the problem at hand more than what it is, and the cost to fix the new problem will be far greater than the original.

-Be yourself. Seriously.

-If you have a girlfriend (or wife but I can’t speak with experience here), do nice things for them even on the not so special days (birthdays, anniversaries, etc). A surprise here and there with her favourite ice cream or favourite flower really will make a difference in your relationship.

-Have fun.
