help?

If what you eat now isnt enough, eat more. Yes, its that fucking simple.

It’s YOUR goddamn body, it’s YOUR goddamn brain - use them both. We all come on here and read the articles ourselves. We understand questions about some confusion on a specific subject, but yours is downright pure ignorance, lazyness, and weak-willed. No one here will do your own damn work.

Bodybuilding, and any type of weightlifting requies extreme discipline, commitment, and knowing what you’re doing. It takes a lot of initiative to learn what you need to know.

If you were one of Coach Davies’ athletes he’s have you puking right now and would instill some fuckin initiative and commitment to be the best in you. That’s the kind of toughness and will you’re supposed to have. Asking someone when the answer is to the left of the screen is pure lazyness. It’s easier ain’t it? What are you gonna do when the pain comes in while doing a real workout - ask somebody to lift for you?

I think not.

hey cmon now guys, cant take a joke? geez you guys are too uptight… i like subway thoug… jareds stupid though

anyways, i never claimed to be a proffessional at anything i just came on here to talk and maybe get some info, i dont know why you guys are so uptight about it, and for your info the “diet” would have been enough to make anyone bust out their seam and became a morbidly obese son of a b… it wasnt water weight and it wasnt fat weight, and if it was by any chance then how is it that i have no body fat? cmon guys i was taking pretty much 6 times teh recommended amount of protein, and crabohydrates and believe me, yeh i was taking in as much fat as i could, you think i give a f…? about the weight i would gain, heck give me fat give me lean weight i dont care, i ate all the crap i got in my hands, burgers pizza, chips… MUFFINS, candy, candy, and you know what? i was testing my metabolism to see how ridiculous it would get, if you guys think “oh your not eating right” thats total bs, protein is protein, carbohydrates are carbohydrates, and hell, fat is fat, consumption of fat should result in one thing, weight gain, excess calorie consumption should result in weight gain, period. Thats how it goes, it doesnt matter if it comes from macdonalds or from a bottle of whey protein, and i am just talking about general mass weight gain, because that was all i was testing myself for, so dont give me all that bull about eating wrong because hey, eating wrong is the fastest way to test you weight gain ability, thats it from

Cacalooooooochhhhh

You want to get fat? Daily, eat a large pizza, with all toppings, before bed.

“I want to gain weight”
“How’s your diet”
“I eat Subway 2x a day”
“Those only have a few hundred calories in them, at most”
“protein is protein, fat is fat, carbs are carbs. Excess calories should result in weight gain”

Dumbass.

All you eat is shit carbs. What do you expect?

“Private Pyle” here said: “cmon guys i was taking pretty much 6 times teh recommended amount of protein, and crabohydrates”

Well, the recommended ammount of protein for bulking is at least 1.5 g/lb of body weight. At 200 lbs, that would make it 300 g for you. Well, it just so happens you are eating 6 times this ammount - which just so happens to be 1800 grams of protein/day. You can eat 10 lbs of chicken breasts and you still fall considerably short of your 1800 g intake.

The recommended carb intake for bulking is 3 times your body weight. Since you weigh 200 lbs, that makes it 600 g for you. Well you seem to also be eating 6 times the recommended ammount for carbs - in other words, 3600 grams of carbs. Put graphically, that’s 180 slices of whole grain bread.

If we ignore the fat altogether (which you also mention you eat more than the traditionally reccomended 20% for bulking) we have this:

3600+1800= 5400 g total.
5400g x 4 cals = 21,600 cals/day

I rest my case.

I expect you to retreat from posting stupid threads such as ths in the future. You’re coming across as stupid as they get.

And GaGalooch, we’re not here to joke. If we wanted to have a merry good time we’d be hitting on girls at a club or watching comedy central.

You come across as a 15 yr old kid - and I apologize for any 15 yr old who take offense. I realize many 15 yr olds are mature beyond their years (then again others just insist on acting like a hyperactive child with ADD who just MUST have all attention on him)

Man up GaGalooch.

If you’re really looking for info, I’ll give it a shot. If you find yourself getting full, check out the Skinny Bastard Diet. It has you eating lower fat to keep you from feeling satisfied, and doing things like mixing drinks with only half the water to make them more dense.

This didn’t sound like your problem. It really could be the quality of food you’re eating. Read the Chanko Diet. You mention money as an issue.

Here’s my suggestion. If you eat the following meal every three waking hours, train hard and don’t gain any weight I’d be pretty shocked. Cook up a box of Brown Rice a day and split between your meals ($2.50 a day). Eat a can of corn at each meal ($2.50 a day). Then with each meal eat your choice of a can of tuna, a pouch of salmon, a half pound of ground beef, or half a rotisserie chicken ($6 - $8 a day). Need more? 6 eggs a day ($.60 a day). Throw in a nighttime protein shake and some EFAs (<$2 a day). Under $15 a day. Little more than you’re blowing on Tubway.

“protein is protein, carbohydrates are carbohydrates, and hell, fat is fat, consumption of fat should result in one thing, weight gain, excess calorie consumption should result in weight gain, period. Thats how it goes, it doesnt matter if it comes from macdonalds or from a bottle of whey protein”

that is probabaly the single most retarded statement i have ever read on this forum!

do yourself a favor and start reading anything by john berardi, you have a lot to learn.

I just want everyone to notice and appreciate the fact that I did not come on this thread and flame this moron (OOOPPS…) into the next planet’s orbit.

Despite the atrocious grammar and attitude.

First of all the food you are eating is terrible, everyone mentioned that and that isnt nearly a lot of food. I could eat all you explained in 2 meals. I had your problem,… i was 6’5" and 195. now im 230 and the same body fat. If you think that is a lot here is what i eat for breakfast hot shot…

168C, 84P–8
-3/4 cup oatmeal 46/8
-1/4 cup rasins 31/1
-2 bananna 47/2
-2 slice wheat 24/6
-12 E.W. 4/40
-2 Scoops Grow 16/27

and i eat 5 more meals just that big through the day. So get serious, read your ass off, and make a decent diet. You will gain weight.

Joe

Bigspirit why blow 6-8 bucks on a rotisserie chicken when you can pay 2 bucks for a lb of skinless chicken breasts and cook them yourself? Lazy bastards need to spend money for other to make them some food. Real men take charge and cook themselves - especially when things get tight and money is an issue.
Also instead of regular salmon use canned salmon for 1.50 bucks a can.

You’re only blowing up too much money and eating wrong if you dont know what you’re doing. I can get a whole week’s worth of food for 25 bucks - including chicken (1.80 bucks/lb), tuna (48 cents/can), eggs (1 buck/box), old fashioned oatmeal (98 cents/lb), salmon (1.50 bucks/can). There is NO need to spend a boatload in food. 15 bucks/day is too much - it’s 105 bucks a week. I save 80 bucks compared to that, which I can save up or blow it on something fun. Then again, when you have a lzy ass who refuses to take charge of his own responsibilities, and refers to pay someone to do his daily tasks, you’re bound to be broke - AND be shortchanged. When I cook I measure exactly what I need to eat. When somebody does it for you, you dont know what they cooked it with. Even sodium will bloat you up in moderate-high ammounts.

alright guys, no more joking around on my part, i got an apoligy to give you guys
i apoligize for being an idiot… even though thats not entirely my fault, genetics take care of that too ya know
sorry to all you guys who may have been offended by just reading my ignorant postings, but i must admit, even though your responses were angry, they were very helpful, and i appreciate it very much
Ive been reading some stuff that Berardi wrote and it makes a lot of sense, i even considered adopting the diet he designed to bulk up, now, i know i know, you guys think im a joker  eh, but i want to ask you guys, since i feel i have a pretty high metabolism, and granted i may be wrong again, would increasing the food intake by adding more vegetables to the Berardi diet be enough or should i just increase my calorie intake, i know it will make me perhaps gain fat weight but my question is, how should i adjust a diet to fit my metabolism, adjusting the calorie portion of it or by adjusting carbohydrates and protein intake?

sorry and thanks again

Cacaloooochhhhh

Well, first off, you need to figure out if you’re insulin resistant or insulin sensitive (read Massive Eating, Part 2 for in-depth info on insulin). Theres different tests you can get done from your doctor but the way most people would do it is test themselves by eating a high-carb diet (50-60% carbs/35-40% protein/10-15% fat). Record your weight, get a pair of fat calipers and record the readings you get from that. If you find you’re gaining weight on the high carb diet and the fat calipers say the same thing through the whole time that you’re doing this (meaning, you’re not gaining any fat mass) then you’re insulin sensitive. And vice versa.

If I were you, the first thing I’d do is quit bitching about your metabolism. I have a fast metabolism, I used to be skinny as hell. I can remember the last time I whined about my metabolism, the first time I came here on the T-Forums. Never whined about it again.

If you’re gaining muscle then your “fast metabolism” has been overcome, right? So set your goals on gaining muscle.

I’ll post more when I think about it.

Two more article suggestions for you:

“The Missing Ingredient”

and

“The Essential Berardi”

Oh, and the “New Diet Manifesto” in this week’s issue.
