BioTE doctors (supposedly) have a starting guideline of 6-200mg pellets for the “average” patient.
Like the others have said, most of us do our own injection. I like the feeling of being in control and not having to go the Dr for shots is great (I’ve done that too)
Testopel and BioTE are not the same. When I researched in the beginning, I had NO interest in Testopel.
I am extremely happy with BioTe after one year. I did not do injections, although all of the mainstream doctors (including Crisler) suggested that method.
My life does NOT revolve around the next testosterone injection.
Brother I’m simply relating my experiences. It can’t be ‘incorrect’ if it actually happened. Now we can debate whether it SHOULD have happened or you can offer a differing view point but this was mine.
Never said it was a main concern…didn’t even list if first because for me it’s NOT a concern but we both know cost is a factor for many people…even to the point of choosing not to pay for things like insulin or epipens due to costs.
everything else you posted has us in fairly close agreement.
So, went in for Dr appt today and he prescribed me injections, 200mg every two weeks for 6 weeks to see how things go. Any ideas, opinions as to the amount and whether it’ll move the marker or not?
If you are only getting injections every two weeks I expect you to be on a rollercoaster. 200mg every two weeks is not a bad starting point but how often you inject it is. I believe the half life of cypionate is 7-8 days so I forsee the week before your next injection not being pleasant.
Terrible protocol. Pin a minimum of once every 7 days but optimally it should be twice a week. Much more stable levels this way. Your levels will be in the basement by the time you’re ready to inject again and you’ll basically start over
How long does it take before you shoot to feel the effects? Should I just shoot up 100 this week and 100 the next?
That bad? But once a week should do the trick in your opinion? How about the amount of juice prescribed, do you think 200 every 2 weeks is enough?
Btw, does a person’s tolerance level change when on this?
Apologies … I missed the header that said it was your experience rather than hearsay.
I would follow what @studhammer stated as he is on injections. Im on a cream so i cant state exactly to your question as i have no experience directly. I have seen on here quite a bit of guys being put on a similar protocol and saying they still feel like shit though. Especially the week before their next injection.
If you are allowed to inject yourself I would do the twice weekly injections as most on here seem to have success with that protocol.
I think 100 a week would at least put you in a spot that you would feel improvement from your current levels. If you think you still could feel better after 6 weeks and labs too, request an adjustment.
Hopefully your doc is good though and you dont have to request if your still not up to par.
Edit: feeling good par, not you’re in range, you’re good par
100 mg/week is a basic starting point.
I have friend who is on this protocol and refuses to change. By the end of the 2 weeks, he feels like shit all over again. He cant lose weight, cant get anything the way he wants it because he refuses to question his doc. Once a week, will get you by, but I think twice a week is optimal. Keeps your blood levels nice and steady
Is he making you come in for the shots or letting you self administer?
If he’s letting you self administer then I would recommend just breaking his 200mg/2week protocol into 50mg 2x/wk. The result is still in line with his dosing prescription but will give you mmore even blood level concentrations with less peaks and valleys.
Wow … on April 28, you posted asking for advice about BioTE pellets, and less than 24 hours later on April 29, you had a doctor’s appointment and were getting your first testosterone injection.
Seems rather odd.
I assume you dont take hcg since you opted for pellets to avoid living for shots like you said?
Letting me self administer. I was thinking actually of doing it once a week, but the pharmacy only gave me 3 syringes.
How low are the valleys? How high are the peaks? Is this something experienced with most people or just a few?
I did. I originally was intro’d to the idea of BioTE pellets last week by my psych (PA in the office actually) and started doing some research. Made an appt for yesterday with a urologist to get a second opinion, last week.
Pellets were what was first pushed to me initially, last week actually, before I ever knew this whole industry was a thing. That’s initially what drew me into the new Drs office, the Testopel, which seems to be a standard FDA approved pellet that competes with BioTE. I wanted to get a perspective from another dr since the sell seemed a bit too cheesy for me - when the PA in the psych office was trying to push these things - I was thinking this was some glorified vitamin that won’t do sh*t for me.
Urologist on the other hand suggested injections - his logic was that lets see if you need T in the first place, even though your numbers are low, whether it would help with the symptoms. Then, if all is well, we move to pellets.
Couldn’t argue with his logic.
I must say though, I shot up last night and today I woke up feeling like I over slept. I slept for 8 hours, usually around this time (noon) I’d feel like I need a nap, surprisingly I don’t feel that way.
Anyone else feel that way at first?
